Join the School Board of the City of Manassas as we honor the life and legacy of Jennie Dean. In anticipation of the opening of the new Jennie Dean Elementary School, this special evening will spotlight the voices of those connected to the Manassas Industrial School for Colored Youth, a historic institution founded in 1893, as well as individuals who experienced the campus in later years. Through a combination of recorded oral histories and in-person participation, Manassas City Public Schools will preserve a vital chapter of our shared history, ensuring that the legacy of the Manassas Industrial School lives on through Jennie Dean Elementary School, honoring the past while inspiring current and future generations.
