About Us
The Fourth of July has been celebrated in Narberth since 1942 by the Borough itself, when the shock of Pearl Harbor and gasoline rationing brought our residents and nearby neighbors together for the first combined day and evening all-borough celebration. On February 14, 1972, due to insurance issues, Borough Council gave the green light to any responsible group of borough citizens the use of Borough facilities, police and fire protection to hold a 4th of July Celebration. Frank “Bud” Hewitt, approached then council President Robert H. Smith about being designated as General Chairman of the 4th of July celebration.
