This welcoming six-session course invites community members ages 16 and up to step onto the stage at Gesa Power House Theatre and explore the fundamentals of acting in a supportive, low-pressure environment. Taught by longtime performer and beloved former Walla Walla Community College instructor Kevin Loomer, the class is designed for beginners as well as anyone curious about reconnecting with their creativity. Through theatre games, scene exploration, voice and movement exercises, and ensemble activities, participants will build confidence, presence, and authentic communication. Whether you’ve always wanted to try acting, want to feel more comfortable speaking in front of others, or are simply looking for a creative outlet and a welcoming community, this class offers a chance to play, explore, and grow. Participants may explore:• Theatre games that build trust, creativity, and spontaneity• Voice and movement exercises to develop presence and expression• Basic acting tools for approaching scenes and characters• Listening and responding authentically with scene partners• Improvisation techniques that help participants get out of their heads and into the moment• Ensemble work that fosters connection and collaborationEach session will build on the group’s comfort and curiosity, allowing the instructor to adapt activities to the interests and experience level of the participants. About the InstructorKevin Loomer is an experienced actor, director, and teacher who spent many years inspiring students as a theatre instructor at Walla Walla Community College. Known for his talent, humor, and ability to create welcoming learning environments, Kevin has helped countless students discover their voices both on and off the stage. His teaching focuses on helping participants feel comfortable taking creative risks while developing the tools and confidence to express themselves authentically. No experience required. Just show up ready to learn, play, and connect.

On June 10th, 2026, at 7PM, Gesa Power House Theatre is excited to present Texas Music Revolution! Texas Music Revolution follows the journey of indie radio station KHYI-FM GM and music festival founder Joshua Jones as he produces the silver anniversary of this iconic event. As much a document of reintroducing live music in the wake of a pandemic, it is a celebration of Texas and its roots — which, at the crossroads of purist country and Americana, has evolved the iconic ‘red dirt’ Waylon-and-Willie style, considered one of three pillars of American country music. For more than a quarter of a century, KHYI-FM’s commitment to radio independence has given voice to this unique sector of the country western genre. TMR has subsequently emerged as an iconic live showcase, and grown into one of the largest independent music festivals in the USA. In a volatile era where larger festivals have shuttered, Joshua and KHYI must double down to produce their grandest event yet.

The veterans who have served our nation bear the daily burden of their untold stories. The Red Badge Project was established by former Army Captain Evan Bailey and actor and Air Force Veteran Tom Skerritt to lift that weight. The Red Badge Project is dedicated to improving the lives of veterans by sharing storytelling skills to help them manage the challenges of PTS, TBIs, moral injury, and more. Bi-monthly classes for veterans are offered in conjunction with the Vet Centers in Walla Walla, Seattle, Federal Way, Everett, and Spokane. At this event, we are honored to be some of the first people outside of the Red Badge Project classroom to hear these stories. This program is sponsored by Gesa Credit Union, and supported in part, by a grant from the Washington State Arts Commission.  This is a community-supported event, made possible by the generosity of attendees like you. Join the theater team each week for a nostalgic afternoon of film, friends, and fun! Our Little Watts series is sponsored by Coldwell Banker Walla Walla and Underriner Honda of Walla Walla. Space Jam blends live-action and animation to tell the story of basketball legend Michael Jordan, who is unexpectedly recruited by Looney Tunes characters to help them win a high-stakes basketball game. The Tunes are threatened by a group of tiny aliens who steal the talents of top NBA players and transform into powerful opponents known as the Monstars. With their freedom on the line, Bugs Bunny and his friends convince Jordan to come out of retirement and lead their team. As the game unfolds, the Tunes rely on teamwork, humor, and Jordan’s skills to take on the much stronger Monstars.
