Get an in-depth look at Buffalo’s world-famous music hall! Explore the interior spaces of Kleinhans Music Hall, a National Historic Landmark designed by renowned architects Eliel & Eero Saarinen, with assistance from designer Charles Eames. It is a modern masterpiece, home of the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra for more than 75 years. Meet inside the lobby entrance, by the parking lot entrance, of Kleinhans Music Hall at 3 Symphony Circle, Buffalo, NY 14201. Free parking is available in the Kleinhans Music Hall parking lot. Space on this tour is limited, and reservations are required. Interior photography is allowed. This tour is approximately ninety minutes in length. Tour Prices: General Admission: $19Explorer Pass Member Admission: FREEChildren: Free for children under 18, must be accompanied by parent or guardian. School Groups must contact Explore Buffalo to arrange a School Group Tour.Tour Procedures & Policies: Reservations are required for all tours, including for Explorer Pass members. From the iconic Over the Rainbow to Stormy Weather and Come Rain or Come Shine, Arlen’s music has shaped American culture for generations. This very special event, produced in collaboration between JazzBuffalo and Kleinhans Music Hall, honors Arlen’s immense contributions to jazz and popular music while highlighting his roots in Buffalo. Building on last year’s tremendous reception, we are proud to make this an annual tradition for Jazz at Kleinhans—one that each year pays tribute to a true legend of American music and of Buffalo’s own history. Headlining the evening will be Tierney Sutton, a nine-time Grammy-nominated jazz vocalist acclaimed for her luminous voice, imaginative interpretations, and extraordinary storytelling. Sutton, whose albums have earned Grammy nominations for “Best Jazz Vocal Album” year after year, is renowned for reimagining the Great American Songbook with elegance and depth. She will be joined by the extraordinary pianist Tamir Hendelman, whose artistry has graced the stages of the Jeff Hamilton Trio, the Grammy-winning Clayton-Hamilton Jazz Orchestra, and collaborations with Barbra Streisand, Natalie Cole, and countless jazz luminaries. Sutton and Hendelman share a musical partnership spanning more than two decades, touring the world together and creating unforgettable duo performances. Their synergy promises to bring Arlen’s timeless songs to life with fresh arrangements, heartfelt interpretations, and historical insights. Though Arlen was born and raised in Buffalo—his journey beginning with piano performances on the S.S. Canadiana before he became a major force on Broadway and in Hollywood—his legacy here remains underrecognized. This concert is not only a tribute to Arlen’s genius but also a celebration of Buffalo’s role in shaping one of America’s most treasured songwriters. Their inwardness, unbelievably fine intonation, and phrasing worked out to the smallest detail inspire audiences worldwide. About Gloria ChienTaiwanese-born pianist Gloria Chien has one of the most diverse musical lives as a noted performer, concert presenter, and educator. She made her orchestral debut at the age of sixteen with the Boston Symphony Orchestra with Thomas Dausgaard, and she performed again with the BSO with Keith Lockhart. She was subsequently selected by The Boston Globe as one of its Superior Pianists of the year, “who appears to excel in everything.” In recent seasons, she has performed as a recitalist and chamber musician at Alice Tully Hall, the Library of Congress, the Phillips Collection, the Dresden Chamber Music Festival, and the National Concert Hall in Taiwan. She performs frequently with the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center. In 2009, she launched String Theory, a chamber music series in Chattanooga, Tennessee that has become one of the region’s premier classical music presenters. Chien studied extensively at the New England Conservatory of Music with Wha Kyung Byun and Russell Sherman. She is Artist-in-Residence at Lee University in Cleveland, Tennessee, and she is a Steinway Artist.
