Through environmental design, books, and visual storytelling, the installation centers tenderness, imagination, and resilience, creating a space where softness and strength coexist. This program is brought to the Oak Park community through a partnership between the Oak Park Public Library, the Village of Oak Park, Oak Park Township and the Oak Park & River Forest Community Foundation.

Join us for this informative and hands-on workshop in which you'll learn how to make your own reusable sandwich wrap while reviewing sewing machine basics and becoming more familiar with using and recycling different types of soft plastics. The sandwich wraps will be made with PlastiFab, a fused plastic fabric made with used plastic grocery bags and our heat press. PlastiFab can be personalized by fusing colorful plastic to write a message or make a little design, then sewn together with some colorful cotton fabric and velcro pieces to create a reusable sandwich wrap.Plastic bags will be provided but feel free to bring your own and we'll make sure they get recycled or upcycled.
