Vero Beach Museum of Art Celebrates Our Nation’s 250th Year with American Made: Paintings and Sculpture from the DeMell Jacobsen Collection Masterpieces by many of our country’s most important artists on view January 31–June 7, 2026 VERO BEACH, FL—In anticipation of our nation’s semi quincentennial, the Vero Beach Museum of Art (VBMA) is delighted to present American Made: Paintings and Sculpture from the DeMell Jacobsen Collection, an exhibition of more than 80 works by renowned American artists, including Benjamin West, Sarah Miriam Peale, Edward Moran, John Singer Sargent, Mary Cassatt, Robert Henri, and Charles Alston. The exhibition will be on view from Saturday, January 31, through Sunday, June 7, 2026. Spanning 250 years, with an emphasis on the 19th and 20th centuries, the works in this exhibition, drawn entirely from the rich holdings of the DeMell Jacobsen Collection, highlight masterpieces of painting and sculpture by many of this country’s most important artists. While American Made includes eighty-five examples of painting and sculpture, the Collection as a whole currently includes more than three hundred works of art and continues to grow. It was put together by Dr. Diane DeMell Jacobsen and her late husband, Thomas Jacobsen. The American Made exhibition is organized into eight thematic sections that demonstrate how American artists from the colonial era to the 20th century supported the nation's growth and progress. Museum guests will discover: • Colonial-era portraits by masters, such as Benjamin West, Thomas Sully, and Rembrandt Peale; • Late 19th- and early 20th-century depictions of colonies and destinations by artists including Marsden Hartley, Leon Kroll, and John Sloan; • Mid-19th-century landscape painting depicting the United States from the mountains to the sea by artists such as Asher B. Durand, Jasper Francis Copsey, and William Bradford; • Still life paintings illuminating nature’s bounty by John Francis, Charles Ethan Porter, and Elizabeth Williams, and trompe l’oeil (French for “fool the eye”) still lifes by masters, including William Michael Harnett, John Haberle, and John Peto; • Genre scenes depicting everyday American life, including masterpieces by Elizabeth Jane Gardner Bouguereau, Seymour Guy, and Daniel Huntington; • The late 19th-century origins of American Modernism through works of artists such as Childe Hassam, William Merritt Chase, and Edwin Lord Weeks, who lived or spent considerable time studying abroad; • Examples of early 20th-century Modernism and mid-20th-century Abstract Expressionist style from Max Weber, John Marin, Charmion von Wiegand, and others; • Works depicting post-1930 urban and rural life by artists including Paul Kelpe, Molly Luce, and Walt Kuhn; and • A selection of 19th and 20th-century sculptures by Augustus Saint-Gaudens, Frederick William MacMonnies, Elizabeth Catlett, and others. This is the first public look at the season ahead — the full lineup of concerts, guest artists, and the artistic vision shaping what promises to be an exciting new chapter for the Space Coast Symphony Orchestra. During the event, Aaron Collins will share the details of what is taking shape for Season 18, offering audiences a real sense of the programming, the variety of experiences ahead, and how the season is coming together as a whole. It is a chance not only to hear what’s next, but to be part of that moment as it is unveiled for the very first time. Guests will also have the opportunity to ask questions, learn more about the programming process, and celebrate the season with fellow music lovers and members of the orchestra family. This is not a formal lecture or presentation. It is designed as a relaxed, welcoming gathering — a chance to enjoy a drink, mingle with musicians, board members, guest artists, and friends of the Symphony, and experience the excitement of a new season before it is officially out in the world. It is also an opportunity for current patrons to renew their season passes and reserve seats before subscriptions open to the public. Vero Beach Museum of Art Celebrates Our Nation’s 250th Year with American Made: Paintings and Sculpture from the DeMell Jacobsen Collection Masterpieces by many of our country’s most important artists on view January 31–June 7, 2026 VERO BEACH, FL—In anticipation of our nation’s semi quincentennial, the Vero Beach Museum of Art (VBMA) is delighted to present American Made: Paintings and Sculpture from the DeMell Jacobsen Collection, an exhibition of more than 80 works by renowned American artists, including Benjamin West, Sarah Miriam Peale, Edward Moran, John Singer Sargent, Mary Cassatt, Robert Henri, and Charles Alston. The exhibition will be on view from Saturday, January 31, through Sunday, June 7, 2026. Spanning 250 years, with an emphasis on the 19th and 20th centuries, the works in this exhibition, drawn entirely from the rich holdings of the DeMell Jacobsen Collection, highlight masterpieces of painting and sculpture by many of this country’s most important artists. While American Made includes eighty-five examples of painting and sculpture, the Collection as a whole currently includes more than three hundred works of art and continues to grow. It was put together by Dr. Diane DeMell Jacobsen and her late husband, Thomas Jacobsen. The American Made exhibition is organized into eight thematic sections that demonstrate how American artists from the colonial era to the 20th century supported the nation's growth and progress. Museum guests will discover: • Colonial-era portraits by masters, such as Benjamin West, Thomas Sully, and Rembrandt Peale; • Late 19th- and early 20th-century depictions of colonies and destinations by artists including Marsden Hartley, Leon Kroll, and John Sloan; • Mid-19th-century landscape painting depicting the United States from the mountains to the sea by artists such as Asher B. Durand, Jasper Francis Copsey, and William Bradford; • Still life paintings illuminating nature’s bounty by John Francis, Charles Ethan Porter, and Elizabeth Williams, and trompe l’oeil (French for “fool the eye”) still lifes by masters, including William Michael Harnett, John Haberle, and John Peto; • Genre scenes depicting everyday American life, including masterpieces by Elizabeth Jane Gardner Bouguereau, Seymour Guy, and Daniel Huntington; • The late 19th-century origins of American Modernism through works of artists such as Childe Hassam, William Merritt Chase, and Edwin Lord Weeks, who lived or spent considerable time studying abroad; • Examples of early 20th-century Modernism and mid-20th-century Abstract Expressionist style from Max Weber, John Marin, Charmion von Wiegand, and others; • Works depicting post-1930 urban and rural life by artists including Paul Kelpe, Molly Luce, and Walt Kuhn; and • A selection of 19th and 20th-century sculptures by Augustus Saint-Gaudens, Frederick William MacMonnies, Elizabeth Catlett, and others. Vero Beach Museum of Art Celebrates Our Nation’s 250th Year with American Made: Paintings and Sculpture from the DeMell Jacobsen Collection Masterpieces by many of our country’s most important artists on view January 31–June 7, 2026 VERO BEACH, FL—In anticipation of our nation’s semi quincentennial, the Vero Beach Museum of Art (VBMA) is delighted to present American Made: Paintings and Sculpture from the DeMell Jacobsen Collection, an exhibition of more than 80 works by renowned American artists, including Benjamin West, Sarah Miriam Peale, Edward Moran, John Singer Sargent, Mary Cassatt, Robert Henri, and Charles Alston. The exhibition will be on view from Saturday, January 31, through Sunday, June 7, 2026. Spanning 250 years, with an emphasis on the 19th and 20th centuries, the works in this exhibition, drawn entirely from the rich holdings of the DeMell Jacobsen Collection, highlight masterpieces of painting and sculpture by many of this country’s most important artists. While American Made includes eighty-five examples of painting and sculpture, the Collection as a whole currently includes more than three hundred works of art and continues to grow. It was put together by Dr. Diane DeMell Jacobsen and her late husband, Thomas Jacobsen. The American Made exhibition is organized into eight thematic sections that demonstrate how American artists from the colonial era to the 20th century supported the nation's growth and progress. Museum guests will discover: • Colonial-era portraits by masters, such as Benjamin West, Thomas Sully, and Rembrandt Peale; • Late 19th- and early 20th-century depictions of colonies and destinations by artists including Marsden Hartley, Leon Kroll, and John Sloan; • Mid-19th-century landscape painting depicting the United States from the mountains to the sea by artists such as Asher B. Durand, Jasper Francis Copsey, and William Bradford; • Still life paintings illuminating nature’s bounty by John Francis, Charles Ethan Porter, and Elizabeth Williams, and trompe l’oeil (French for “fool the eye”) still lifes by masters, including William Michael Harnett, John Haberle, and John Peto; • Genre scenes depicting everyday American life, including masterpieces by Elizabeth Jane Gardner Bouguereau, Seymour Guy, and Daniel Huntington; • The late 19th-century origins of American Modernism through works of artists such as Childe Hassam, William Merritt Chase, and Edwin Lord Weeks, who lived or spent considerable time studying abroad; • Examples of early 20th-century Modernism and mid-20th-century Abstract Expressionist style from Max Weber, John Marin, Charmion von Wiegand, and others; • Works depicting post-1930 urban and rural life by artists including Paul Kelpe, Molly Luce, and Walt Kuhn; and • A selection of 19th and 20th-century sculptures by Augustus Saint-Gaudens, Frederick William MacMonnies, Elizabeth Catlett, and others. Vero Beach Museum of Art Celebrates Our Nation’s 250th Year with American Made: Paintings and Sculpture from the DeMell Jacobsen Collection Masterpieces by many of our country’s most important artists on view January 31–June 7, 2026 VERO BEACH, FL—In anticipation of our nation’s semi quincentennial, the Vero Beach Museum of Art (VBMA) is delighted to present American Made: Paintings and Sculpture from the DeMell Jacobsen Collection, an exhibition of more than 80 works by renowned American artists, including Benjamin West, Sarah Miriam Peale, Edward Moran, John Singer Sargent, Mary Cassatt, Robert Henri, and Charles Alston. The exhibition will be on view from Saturday, January 31, through Sunday, June 7, 2026. Spanning 250 years, with an emphasis on the 19th and 20th centuries, the works in this exhibition, drawn entirely from the rich holdings of the DeMell Jacobsen Collection, highlight masterpieces of painting and sculpture by many of this country’s most important artists. While American Made includes eighty-five examples of painting and sculpture, the Collection as a whole currently includes more than three hundred works of art and continues to grow. It was put together by Dr. Diane DeMell Jacobsen and her late husband, Thomas Jacobsen. The American Made exhibition is organized into eight thematic sections that demonstrate how American artists from the colonial era to the 20th century supported the nation's growth and progress. Museum guests will discover: • Colonial-era portraits by masters, such as Benjamin West, Thomas Sully, and Rembrandt Peale; • Late 19th- and early 20th-century depictions of colonies and destinations by artists including Marsden Hartley, Leon Kroll, and John Sloan; • Mid-19th-century landscape painting depicting the United States from the mountains to the sea by artists such as Asher B. Durand, Jasper Francis Copsey, and William Bradford; • Still life paintings illuminating nature’s bounty by John Francis, Charles Ethan Porter, and Elizabeth Williams, and trompe l’oeil (French for “fool the eye”) still lifes by masters, including William Michael Harnett, John Haberle, and John Peto; • Genre scenes depicting everyday American life, including masterpieces by Elizabeth Jane Gardner Bouguereau, Seymour Guy, and Daniel Huntington; • The late 19th-century origins of American Modernism through works of artists such as Childe Hassam, William Merritt Chase, and Edwin Lord Weeks, who lived or spent considerable time studying abroad; • Examples of early 20th-century Modernism and mid-20th-century Abstract Expressionist style from Max Weber, John Marin, Charmion von Wiegand, and others; • Works depicting post-1930 urban and rural life by artists including Paul Kelpe, Molly Luce, and Walt Kuhn; and • A selection of 19th and 20th-century sculptures by Augustus Saint-Gaudens, Frederick William MacMonnies, Elizabeth Catlett, and others. If you came of age in the late 1970s and 1980s, the music of Foreigner and Journey was the soundtrack of your life. With ballads and anthems, songs like Foreigner’s “I Don’t Want to Live Without You,” “Waiting for a Girl Like You,” and “I Want to Know What Love Is,” and Journey’s “Who’s Crying Now,” “Open Arms,” and “Don’t Stop Believing,’” are etched into our collective memories. They also made the groups two of the most successful bands of their era. Foreigner, a British-American rock group formed in New York City in 1976, is one of the world’s best-selling bands, with worldwide sales of more than 80 million records. Journey, founded in San Francisco, had 25 gold and platinum albums and 19 Top 40 singles in the United States. “Don’t Stop Believin’” became a worldwide phenomenon and Rolling Stone ranked it among the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time. It is the best-selling digital track from the 20th century and in 2021, received the Grammy Hall of Fame award. Now, Forjoury recreates the sounds of both of these legendary bands. The group, which has been together since 2014, is made up of veteran musicians, including Sean Byrne on lead vocals, John Dischart on keyboard, Uncle Joe on bass, John Pellegrenelli on drums and Rich Antonellia and Peter Tentindo on guitar. Their goal is to bring the sights and sounds of Foreigner and Journey to fans of the groups and to a new generation of fans. Some people are born to make music. Some people are born to bake. The members of TAE & The Neighborly, a Wisconsin-based band, were all neighbors, each one living on one floor of a five-story building. Each loved to bake, but when sugar became scarce during the early pandemic, they found themselves constantly borrowing cups of sugar. They decided to move in together to share cake-baking resources. Since everyone knows all good rhythms begin in the kitchen, it wasn’t long before they began making music as well as bread. Since joining forces in 2020, TAE & The Neighborly (Andy Welsch, Daniel Pingrey, William Deblaey, and Kelvin Kaspar) have taken the best of soul, R&B, pop, and rock and brought their vibrant instrumentations and TAE’s unforgettable vocals. In 2024, they released their debut album, Self Help. Born and raised in Green Bay, TAE is a writer, singer, and guitarist who performed solo until TAE & The Neighborly was formed. She uses the universal language of music as a means to inspire social change, encourage the exploration of inner dialogue, and advocate for self-love. TAE weaves between the genres and styles to mirror the topic important to her. Critics have begun to take note of the relatively new group. Vero Beach Museum of Art Celebrates Our Nation’s 250th Year with American Made: Paintings and Sculpture from the DeMell Jacobsen Collection Masterpieces by many of our country’s most important artists on view January 31–June 7, 2026 VERO BEACH, FL—In anticipation of our nation’s semi quincentennial, the Vero Beach Museum of Art (VBMA) is delighted to present American Made: Paintings and Sculpture from the DeMell Jacobsen Collection, an exhibition of more than 80 works by renowned American artists, including Benjamin West, Sarah Miriam Peale, Edward Moran, John Singer Sargent, Mary Cassatt, Robert Henri, and Charles Alston. The exhibition will be on view from Saturday, January 31, through Sunday, June 7, 2026. Spanning 250 years, with an emphasis on the 19th and 20th centuries, the works in this exhibition, drawn entirely from the rich holdings of the DeMell Jacobsen Collection, highlight masterpieces of painting and sculpture by many of this country’s most important artists. While American Made includes eighty-five examples of painting and sculpture, the Collection as a whole currently includes more than three hundred works of art and continues to grow. It was put together by Dr. Diane DeMell Jacobsen and her late husband, Thomas Jacobsen. The American Made exhibition is organized into eight thematic sections that demonstrate how American artists from the colonial era to the 20th century supported the nation's growth and progress. Museum guests will discover: • Colonial-era portraits by masters, such as Benjamin West, Thomas Sully, and Rembrandt Peale; • Late 19th- and early 20th-century depictions of colonies and destinations by artists including Marsden Hartley, Leon Kroll, and John Sloan; • Mid-19th-century landscape painting depicting the United States from the mountains to the sea by artists such as Asher B. Looking to improve your core strength, balance, and posture in a beautiful natural setting? Join us for a one-hour Pilates-based fitness class at the Environmental Learning Center (ELC). This full-body workout includes a mix of standing and floor exercises designed to build stability, flexibility, and fluidity of movement. All fitness levels are welcome. Certified instructor Janice Broda provides modifications throughout the class to ensure it’s accessible and effective for beginners and experienced participants. You’ll need to bring a yoga mat and small hand weights if you’d like to add resistance. A $5 donation to support the Environmental Learning Center is requested.
