A Matter of Balance is an award-winning program designed to help people learn practical strategies to manage falls and increase physical activity levels.Participants will learn:- view falls as controllable- set goals for increasing activity- make changes to reduce fall risks at home- exercise to increase strength and balanceWho should attend?- anyone concerned about falls- anyone interested in improving balance, flexibility and strength- anyone who has fallen in the past- anyone who has restricted activities because of falling concernsThis is an 8-week class led by Kelly Ward, Florida Dept. of Health Sarasota County.Registration is required and limited to 16 participants. Registration for the first class will count for the remaining seven sessions. Participants MUST attend 5 of 8 classes to graduate.
