RAL’S 11TH ANNUAL REGIONAL JURIED PHOTOGRAPHY EXHIBITION STARTS THE LEAGUE’S 2026 SEASON   Ring in the new year with three exciting exhibitions at the Rehoboth Art League. Running from January 9 to February 8 are the “11th Regional Juried Photography Exhibition,” “Recent and Past Paintings: Work by Frederica Noland,” and “Nocturne in Blue: Work by John Steck.”On the evening of January 9th from 5-7 pm, the art league will host an opening reception for all three exhibitions, inviting anyone interested to visit the Corkran, Tubbs, and Ventures galleries to see these new shows.Kicking off the new year will be the “11th Regional Juried Photography Exhibition” in the Corkran Gallery. This show invited artists from Delaware, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, New Jersey, and Washington DC to submit their latest photographic work. This year’s artists were selected for the exhibition from a large pool of applicants, and their work represents a wide array of techniques and content, from traditional modernist approaches to contemporary and alternative media. The exhibiting artists’ photographs include black and white photos, color, portrait style, landscape, abstract, wildlife, and much more.The exhibit is juried and judged by local photographer John Steck Jr., who also has a solo show in the Ventures gallery. Steck Jr. will award First, Second, and Third place awards to the show’s most outstanding pieces. He will be hosting a free public Gallery Talk on Saturday, January 10 at 10 am in the Corkran Gallery, where he will discuss his award decisions and his own career as an artist. Exhibiting artists, interested members, and the general public are welcome to attend the event.The Tubbs Gallery will host Frederica Noland’s solo show, “Recent and Past Paintings.” Noland is a long-time Henlopen Acres artist and resident and has been a part of the Rehoboth Beach art community for decades. Her work showcases vibrant landscapes, abstractionism, and floral themes from the local area.Finally, John Steck, the juror of selection and awards judge for the 11th Regional Juried Photography Exhibition, will also have his own show, “Nocturne in Blue,” in the Ventures Gallery. A visual artist and educator residing in Baltimore, MD, John Steck Jr is a maker of photographic images and ephemeral objects. Using light-sensitive emulsions, he creates photographs that both fade and form over time. His work addresses our complex relationship with time, memory, and impermanence. “Nocturne in Blue” consists of images made from cyanotypes. In one process, John uses long-duration cyanotypes that are in-process, which are exposed/made during the entire exhibition. He also features recently made cyanotypes. The prints are made with flowers and plant materials foraged from the local area.The league invites the public to an opening reception for all three shows on Friday, January 9, from 5-7 pm. The exhibitions are free and open to everyone during the regular gallery hours of Monday through Saturday, 10 am to 4 pm, and Sunday, noon to 4 pm.The Rehoboth Art League is supported, in part, by a grant from the Delaware Division of the Arts, a state agency, in partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts. THREE NEW EXHIBITIONS OPEN FEBRUARY 13 AT THE REHOBOTH ART LEAGUEThis February, the Rehoboth Art League presents three new exhibitions. On view from February 13 through March 8, 2026 are All Things Flight and Beautiful: Work by Allison Cosmos, Still Life and Landscape: Work by John Schisler, and Go Forward: Work by Michele Foster-Lucas.On the evening of February 13th from 5-7 pm, the art league will host an opening reception for its exhibitions, inviting anyone interested to visit the Corkran, and Tubbs galleries to see these new shows.In the Corkran Gallery, “All Things Flight and Beautiful,” work by Allison Cosmos, presents a series of intricately painted scenes and portraits inspired by seventeenth-century Chinoiserie, contemporary design, and close observation of the natural world. Cosmos’ work explores the intersection of traditional botanical beauty and modern storytelling through detailed botanicals, birds, and symbolic elements. Each piece is painted by hand and often incorporates native, endangered, or extinct species of flora and fauna. With lush palettes and layered compositions, the work evokes themes of history, scientific documentation, and imagined worlds, balancing heritage with innovation.Also on view in the Corkran Gallery is “Still Life and Landscape,” oil paintings by John Schisler. Schisler’s work is grounded in traditional techniques influenced by the Dutch Masters and the teachings of Jacques Maroart Leger. Using handmade materials including his own medium, black oil, varnish, and ground pigments, Schisler paints primarily from life, allowing each composition to evolve organically over time. His still lifes emphasize color, light, and composition, drawing viewers in before revealing subtle details meant to spark memory and personal connection. While classical still life has been a recent focus, Schisler continues to explore a wide range of subjects including wildlife, street scenes, and nautical themes.The Tubbs Gallery will feature “Go Forward,” works by Michele Foster-Lucas. This exhibition is a compilation of artwork created over several years and reflects the artist’s journey across different mediums and themes. THREE NEW EXHIBITIONS OPEN FEBRUARY 13 AT THE REHOBOTH ART LEAGUEThis February, the Rehoboth Art League presents three new exhibitions. On view from February 13 through March 8, 2026 are All Things Flight and Beautiful: Work by Allison Cosmos, Still Life and Landscape: Work by John Schisler, and Go Forward: Work by Michele Foster-Lucas.On the evening of February 13th from 5-7 pm, the art league will host an opening reception for its exhibitions, inviting anyone interested to visit the Corkran, and Tubbs galleries to see these new shows.In the Corkran Gallery, “All Things Flight and Beautiful,” work by Allison Cosmos, presents a series of intricately painted scenes and portraits inspired by seventeenth-century Chinoiserie, contemporary design, and close observation of the natural world. Cosmos’ work explores the intersection of traditional botanical beauty and modern storytelling through detailed botanicals, birds, and symbolic elements. Each piece is painted by hand and often incorporates native, endangered, or extinct species of flora and fauna. With lush palettes and layered compositions, the work evokes themes of history, scientific documentation, and imagined worlds, balancing heritage with innovation.Also on view in the Corkran Gallery is “Still Life and Landscape,” oil paintings by John Schisler. Schisler’s work is grounded in traditional techniques influenced by the Dutch Masters and the teachings of Jacques Maroart Leger. Using handmade materials including his own medium, black oil, varnish, and ground pigments, Schisler paints primarily from life, allowing each composition to evolve organically over time. His still lifes emphasize color, light, and composition, drawing viewers in before revealing subtle details meant to spark memory and personal connection. While classical still life has been a recent focus, Schisler continues to explore a wide range of subjects including wildlife, street scenes, and nautical themes.The Tubbs Gallery will feature “Go Forward,” works by Michele Foster-Lucas. This exhibition is a compilation of artwork created over several years and reflects the artist’s journey across different mediums and themes. Through these works, Foster Lucas encourages viewers to move forward, not only creatively, but in all pursuits.The league invites the public to an opening reception for all three shows on Friday, February 13, from 5-7 pm. The exhibitions are free and open to everyone during the regular gallery hours of Monday through Saturday, 10 am to 4 pm, and Sunday, noon to 4 pm.The Rehoboth Art League is supported, in part, by a grant from the Delaware Division of the Arts, a state agency, in partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts. THREE NEW EXHIBITIONS OPEN FEBRUARY 13 AT THE REHOBOTH ART LEAGUEThis February, the Rehoboth Art League presents three new exhibitions. On view from February 13 through March 8, 2026 are All Things Flight and Beautiful: Work by Allison Cosmos, Still Life and Landscape: Work by John Schisler, and Go Forward: Work by Michele Foster-Lucas.On the evening of February 13th from 5-7 pm, the art league will host an opening reception for its exhibitions, inviting anyone interested to visit the Corkran, and Tubbs galleries to see these new shows.In the Corkran Gallery, “All Things Flight and Beautiful,” work by Allison Cosmos, presents a series of intricately painted scenes and portraits inspired by seventeenth-century Chinoiserie, contemporary design, and close observation of the natural world. Cosmos’ work explores the intersection of traditional botanical beauty and modern storytelling through detailed botanicals, birds, and symbolic elements. Each piece is painted by hand and often incorporates native, endangered, or extinct species of flora and fauna. With lush palettes and layered compositions, the work evokes themes of history, scientific documentation, and imagined worlds, balancing heritage with innovation.Also on view in the Corkran Gallery is “Still Life and Landscape,” oil paintings by John Schisler. Schisler’s work is grounded in traditional techniques influenced by the Dutch Masters and the teachings of Jacques Maroart Leger. Using handmade materials including his own medium, black oil, varnish, and ground pigments, Schisler paints primarily from life, allowing each composition to evolve organically over time. His still lifes emphasize color, light, and composition, drawing viewers in before revealing subtle details meant to spark memory and personal connection. While classical still life has been a recent focus, Schisler continues to explore a wide range of subjects including wildlife, street scenes, and nautical themes.The Tubbs Gallery will feature “Go Forward,” works by Michele Foster-Lucas. This exhibition is a compilation of artwork created over several years and reflects the artist’s journey across different mediums and themes. Through these works, Foster Lucas encourages viewers to move forward, not only creatively, but in all pursuits.The league invites the public to an opening reception for all three shows on Friday, February 13, from 5-7 pm. The exhibitions are free and open to everyone during the regular gallery hours of Monday through Saturday, 10 am to 4 pm, and Sunday, noon to 4 pm.The Rehoboth Art League is supported, in part, by a grant from the Delaware Division of the Arts, a state agency, in partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts.
