We are pleased to offer tours of the museum and of the historic church, Tuesday to Saturday, at the following times: 10 AM, 12 Noon, 2 PM and 4 PM.  These are reservation-recommended tours, of 45-minute duration. In the museum, the current feature exhibition is, "The Emergence of a National Historic Site: St. Paul's Between the World Wars". Other displays explore the American Revolution and the Lenape, the original inhabitants of the St. Paul's area.  In the church, visitors observe and learn about the significance of original appearance of 1787, and also gain an appreciation of the use of the edifice as a military field hospital during the Revolutionary War. Other features include the 1830 Erben, one of America's oldest working pipe organs.  Brief recitals are avilable upon request.  Please use the  https://www.recreation.gov website for advance reservations, and please arrive ten minutes before your scheduled tour time.     In addition, self-guided tours of the grounds and historic cemetery, weather and conditions permitting, are available when the site is open.  Reservation are not required for the self guided tours of the grounds. Jules Massenet composed more than thirty operas. In the 1930's Sir Thomas Beecham told the critic Neville Cardus, "I would give the whole of Bach's Brandenburg Concertos for Massenet's Manon, and would think I had vastly profited by the exchange." In 1994, the eminent critic, Andrew Porter, wrote: "Who knows Manon, Werther and Don Quichotte knows the best of Massenet, but not his range from heroic romance to steamy verismo."
