Sustainability is happening all around Dane County! The All Around Dane County program is a community-driven initiative aiming to bring together people interested in sustainability, learn from local initiatives, and share ideas with one another. Sustain Dane will host a gathering on Thursday September 24th from 5:30 – 7:00 pm, meeting at Town of Verona Town Hall. Come to connect with other sustainability enthusiasts and learn about local initiatives happening from Dane County. Where: Town of Verona Community Room (7669 County Rd PD, Verona, WI 53593) When: Thursday, September 24 from 5:30—7:00 PM What: Networking, brief sustainability stories from Verona Area School District, the Farley Center, Friends of Badger Mill Creek Conservancy, Sustain Verona, and Dark Skies Verona, and a short walk through the prairie. Schedule 5:30—6:00 PM Arrival and networking 6:00—6:30 PM Sustainability stories from local organizations 6:30—7:00 PM Networking + walk in prairie This event will be held indoors with networking and an optional walk outdoors. Please wear weather appropriate clothing and shoes.

Please join us for our meeting and learn about how you can help spread joy throughout the community, make a real difference for youth and support the Optimist Mission "By providing hope and positive vision, Optimists bring out the best in our youth, our communities, and ourselves."  We meet at the Verona Senior Center on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of the month from 6:30-8 p.m. The 4th Thursday meeting is a special guest meeting where we often have guest speakers and other informational, educational and joyous activities planned in addition to our volunteer coordination work.

On Sunday, September 27, Infinity Martial Arts–Fitchburg is hosting Strong Kids Start Here—a completely free Back-to-School Confidence Workshop! This fun, interactive event is designed especially for children who are new to martial arts. Kids will learn how to: Build real confidence Respond to bullying without fear Make friends and form stronger connections Speak up with courage and respect Use practical, age-appropriate self-defense skills Every child will leave with a simple script they can use to stand up for themselves, plus a special gift and goodie bag. Session times: 2nd grade and under: 1:00–2:00 PM 3rd grade and up: 2:30–3:30 PM Parents are encouraged to stay and watch. No martial arts experience is needed, but advance registration is required.
