There's no place like Stoughton for the holidays! Join the Stoughton Chamber of Commerce for the 1st Annual Hometown Holidays promotion! Shoppers can earn entries for Hometown Holidays giveaways at participating businesses from Sunday, November 30th, to Saturday, December 27th. Receive one entry for every $25 spend at a participating business (maximum of eight per visit), and be entered to win a basket full of goodies from area businesses! Drawings will take place on Mondays in December. Winners will be notified and announced on the Chamber’s Facebook and Instagram Accounts. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- No Purchase Necessary to Enter or Win (alternate method of entry “AMOE”): A Participant can request one (1) Entry form without spending 25 (twenty-five) dollars from a participating Hometown Holidays business by picking up an Entry at the Stoughton Chamber of Commerce Office (Located at 207 S FORREST ST, STOUGHTON, WI 53589). One (1) Entry Without Purchase can be picked up each week of the promotion. One (1) entry will always include a chance to win a “Hometown Holidays” Basket. Livsreise announces a special event during Koselig Week in downtown Stoughton! Livsreise will be a showing of the full-length animated family film “Titina". This film is available to Livsreise through cooperation of the Royal Embassy in Washington, D.C and courtesy of the Norwegian Film Institute . “Titina” is a 2022 Norwegian-Belgian film directed by Kajsa Næss. It is loosely inspired by real events and deals with Norwegian explorer Roald Amundsen and Italian engineer Umberto Noblie’s 1926 journey over the North Pole, on the airship Norge. Nobile brings along his beloved dog, Titina on the voyage. The film is interspersed with actual film footage of the airship and its passengers. Through the eyes of the four-legged celebrity, Titina, (re)discovers a true story of triumph and defeat. The film has Norwegian audio but is without subtitles which are not necessary as a synopsis of the film will be given at the prior to the showing. “Titina” is recommended for children over 6 years old. All children attending will receive a holiday gift for attending.

As part of Koselig Week in Stoughton, we’re hosting the Hello Bead Bar – a cozy, creative drop-in activity where you can make your own bracelets at our fully stocked bead bar.   All supplies are provided, and a friendly helper will be on hand if you’d like guidance. This is a relaxed, come-and-create activity – no experience needed.   $5 per person includes: • Up to one hour at the bead bar • Up to five bracelets   All ages are welcome. Children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult. This winter, the library and Sustainable Stoughton are partnering with Dane County Land & Water Resources to share free native Wisconsin plant seeds with the community. The seeds were collected by Dane County Parks volunteers and are best sown in the fall to overwinter outdoors. We need volunteers to help package the seeds so library patrons can take them from our Library of Things area on the top floor and plant them! Seeds will be available later in January. Delores Fortuna - Sticks and Stones Now working from her studio on the 80-acre Fortuna Family Century Farm in Rusk County, Wisconsin, Fortuna has interwoven her interest in land conservation into her artistic practice. Her newest body of work, "Stick and Stone," explores the interplay of form, line and color which has long informed her work. Inspired by glacial rocks with surface mark-ings and glazes mirroring the farm landscape of trees, fields and sky Fortuna finds herself on a daily basis as much amazed by the visual richness of this place, and equally aware of how powerful her memories of experiencing its rocks, trees and sky were in her childhood. Four Seasons – Barry Roal Carlsen, Kelli Hoppmann, Gregory Schulte, Jonathan Wilde This exhibition brings together four accomplished painters—Kelli Hoppmann, Gregory Schulte, Jonathan Wilde, and Barry Roal Carlsen—who each created a series of works responding to the same landscape over the course of a year. Working independently in one location within Wisconsin's Driftless region, the artists returned to this distinctive land-scape season after season, observing how the flora, fauna, and terrain transform over time. Framework by Aris Georgiades, Kate Morrick, and Ann Orlowski Framework transforms familiar aspects of our material culture through the individual analyses of three distinct artists. Through deconstruction and reconstruction, these artists challenge our understanding of physical and visual spaces. Each artist questions the relationship between historical aspects of the human-made world and the ways we live within, and experience constructed spaces both physically and emotionally.
