Programs for The Littles are planned for 3-5 year olds to attend with an adult caregiver.  Those a bit older or younger are welcome to attend, but not all activities will be suitable for the littlest our our littles.  Programs will last about an hour. On July 2nd at 9am we will read “One-osaurus, Two-osaurus” by Kim Norman.  We will be creating a dinosaur out of the letter “D”. Littles may count their books for reading points to earn a reading medal (50 points). Books count for reading patch collections (25 points per patch). They also count for the 1000 Books Before Kindergarten Program. All children’s points will be tallied for the Reading Challenge between the Adults and the Kids.

On July 9th at 9am we will read “Stone Girl, Bone Girl” by Laurence Anholt.  We will be coloring a dinosaur pop-up egg. On July 16th at 9am we will read “We Don’t Eat Our Classmates” by Ryan T. Higgins.  We will be creating our own fossils. Calling all grown-ups to a Storytime just for you.  Our theme will be The Declaration of Independence.  I’ll have a story, poem, game or activity, song, and craft project for us to do.  They will all be based around our theme.  Please register to attend, so that I have enough supplies for everyone.  But don’t let not signing up stop you from joining us at the last minute.  I usually have a few extra things on hand, just in case.

Acrylic Painting at the Library:  You may bring: your own canvas, brushes, water container, chalk pencil, (If desired: easel, snack and beverage).  You are welcome to use the supplies available at the library.  We have canvases, brushes, chalk, and paint, but they may or may not be the size canvas or brushes, or paint colors used in the presentation.  You may bring your own paint or choose from the paint available at the library.  You may change the colors if you wish, but the YouTube video will be using the colors listed on the handout you’ll receive when you register. You may check out this presentation in advance if you wish.  Under the presentation, are lists of supplies needed.  They include links to order supplies from, if you’d like or find this helpful. During the Summer two times will be offered.  You may choose to attend a session at 1pm or 6pm.  Each will last about three hours. Christmas in July, we will paint “Santa’s Secret” with Michelle the Painter.

Summer Reading Book Club:  In July we will meet to discuss “Dragon Teeth” by Michael Crichton.  Books are ordered through interlibrary loan.  You do not need to purchase books.  Just let the library staff know of your interest.  They will place a hold on the title for you and you will receive notification when the book has arrived and is ready for pick up.
