What is LARP? A live action role-playing is a form of role-playing game where the participants physically portray their characters. The players pursue goals within a fictional setting represented by real-world environments while interacting with each other in character. Monday, December 8, 2025 from 1 pm to 4 pm:  Learning Center LARP Adventure (Live Action Role Play) This will be a hybrid event of Dungeons and Dragons and live action role play. This will be best in small groups. RSVP coming soon. What does this look like at the Learning Center? Students will start out using a map of the Learning Center. They will be given an objective and have to travel to various locations in the Learning Center to complete these objectives. They will be portraying a character and using foam props at times as well. They could have to solve a riddle or puzzle, compete against and enemy champion or anything other possible scenario.  Students are encouraged to dress up for this event. Video Game Day at RVA Learning Center Date:    Tuesday, Dec. 9 Time: 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM Join us for an action-packed Video Game Day at the RVA Learning Center! Whether you're a casual gamer or a seasoned pro, there's something for everyone. Pizza lunch is provided. Activities: Various video games, with tournaments signup happening shortly after students arrive. Games can include:  Gran Turismo, NCAA Football, Mario Kart, Super Smash Bros., Flight Simulators and more. Systems will include PS5, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Wii.  There will also be a throwback video game challenge, where players can compete in a game from generally the 1980's. Don't miss this exciting day of gaming, competition, and fun! All skill levels welcome. There will be a Mario Kart Tournament at this event. Elementary students are welcome, but they will need a parent to help them complete their projects. Materials will be provided for each RVA student to create one sublimation project. Come join the RVA for an opportunity to learn about ways to support animals in need in your community!  Humane Education Manager, Alexis Kosinski, from the Humane Animal Welfare Society (HAWS) of Waukesha will join us to talk about what they do and how we can volunteer, donate, and contribute in other meaningful ways to local animal shelters.  At the event, youâll have the opportunity to create an âAdopt Meâ poster for one of HAWSâs animals. These posters can be emailed or mailed directly to the shelter to help boost visibility for pets waiting for their forever homes. You can also reach out to your local animal shelter to ask what donations they currently need, or how to volunteer.  This is your chance to make a real difference for our furry friends â hope to see you there!  Bonus: This learning seminar will count  towards your community service hours.RSVP to get the Zoom link before the session starts! Get ready to stir, sprinkle, and smile! We are thrilled to invite all our creative young chefs in Grades 6-12 to a special baking event where imagination meets deliciousness. Dive into the wonderful world of cookies as we whip up classic sugar cookies and other delightful favorites, transforming simple ingredients into edible works of art! Event Details: When: Thursday, December 18th, 2025 Where: RVA Learning Center, 1480 County Rd XX, Rothschild, WI 54474 Time: 1:00-3:00 pm Grades: 6-12 What to Expect Mixing Fun: Learn the basics of making cookie dough from scratch.
