This workshop has been cancelled due to instructor illness.In this hands-on workshop, Polish American Artist Gloria Welniak will share information about her traditional Polish immigrant culture as you learn to make beautiful star or gwiazda ornaments.  Polish homes are decorated for the holidays with these star ornaments as the gwiazda symbolizes hope and plenty.  Please bring a small, sharp scissors if possible.  All other materials provided. The Institute for Regional and International Studies at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in collaboration with Wisconsin Public Libraries is pleased to present the Children’s International Story Hour, a time of sharing award-winning children’s literature that celebrate the diversity of arts, culture, and language across the globe. Participants will also learn about global music and engage in hands-on crafts that stimulate their curiosity. Each week promises to be fun and enriching! Are you looking for people to read what you've written and provide feedback? Try Pen Pals, an all-experience-levels-welcome group for fiction writers and fiction writer hopefuls! Once a week, bring in a laptop or notebook and surround yourself with other writers striving toward similar goals. During the first hour, we'll feedback-swap, discuss our projects, and brainstorm solutions to story issues. The remaining hour is all for writing!
