America: a Wisconsin Perspective Exhibition: May 3 – August 2, 2026 Opening Reception with Awards: Saturday, May 16 from 2-4pm 1776 to 2026: It’s the semiquincentennial of the formation of the United States after its Declaration of Independence. Wisconsin artists are challenged to interpret our country’s history and culture through the Wisconsin lens. Our state and its art have a unique place in America’s 250-year history, even though Wisconsin was not declared a state till 1848. After centuries of Indigenous art, explorers and immigrants all played a role in the state’s artistic evolution. How will you interpret our state’s unique social, cultural, historical, or political environment in any of its historical periods or present day?

Deeply Rooted: Small Family Farms Photography by Leslie Witte April 30 – August 2, 2026 Opening Reception: Thursday, April 30th from 5 – 7 pm Leslie Witte brings her photography to the Cedarburg Art Museum in the exhibition Deeply Rooted: Small Family Farms. Through her work, Witte examines everyday life on a farm, inspired by her own upbringing at Cedarburg’s own Witte’s Vegetable Farm.  Witte’s photography provides an intimate perspective into agricultural operations that has been long overlooked by the general population. Through this exhibition, Witte offers viewers an opportunity to catch a glimpse of the effort that goes into the production of the produce we all enjoy. This exhibition runs from April 30 through August 2, 2026. An opening reception will be held on April 30 from 5pm to 7pm.

This is Cedarburg: Cedarburg Landscapes and Plein Air Paintings from the CAM Collections April 30 – August 2, 2026 The Cedarburg Art Museum is pleased to present This is Cedarburg: Cedarburg Landscapes and Plein Air Paintings from the CAM Collection. This exhibition brings together examples of historic 20th century paintings of local landscapes alongside the winners of the Paint Cedarburg’s Plein Air Competition. When the Museum began in 2013, the generous gift of 49 works that started the permanent collection included the winning paintings from this annual event. Thanks to ongoing support from Mal and Jill Hepburn, the Cedarburg Art Museum continues to acquire the Best-In-Show painting from the competition. This is Cedarburg coincides with the 2026 Plein Air competition and looks forward to adding yet another winning work to the permanent collection.

Slow Light June 4-August 16, 2026 Upon entering the Museum's main gallery, housed in a nineteenth-century barn, visitors are often struck by its grand, cathedral-like architecture. This exhibition pays tribute to the barn's physical presence and to its current role as a space devoted to the display and preservation of fiber arts in all its forms. Conceived as a visual essay, the exhibition invites viewers to explore a sequence of interconnected ideas in which one artist’s work leads to the discovery of another. It encourages contemplation of textiles in relation to the Museum's structure and engages with the idea of fiber arts as inherently architectural. Slow Light marks the fifteenth anniversary of the Museum's presence in this building, prompting reflection on the significance of being here. It also invites us to consider how fiber can provide insight into the architecture that surrounds us, the ways our bodies interact with these spaces, their scale and constraints, and the broader human experience within them.

The first-ever Wisconsin Asian Summer Festival, hosted by the Hmong Wisconsin Chamber of Commerce (HWCC), is coming on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at the Ozaukee County Fairgrounds. This one-day event is free and open to the public from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, bringing together community, culture, and commerce through sports, dance, small business vendors, and food. Inspired by the long-standing tradition of Hmong tournaments, the festival creates a space where people can connect, compete, and support local entrepreneurs. Throughout the day, attendees can explore a vibrant vendor marketplace, enjoy tournament play, experience an exciting dance competition, and participate in a variety of cultural activities that celebrate the rich diversity of Wisconsin’s Asian communities. The evening will transition into a ticketed concert featuring Wisconsin Hmong artists and performers, providing a platform to showcase local talent and creative entrepreneurship through live music and performances. The event will be held rain or shine, so we encourage attendees to plan accordingly and join us for a full day of activities. Additional details will be announced soon. Tournament registration for cornhole, volleyball, and the dance competition will be posted soon.

America: a Wisconsin Perspective Exhibition: May 3 – August 2, 2026 Opening Reception with Awards: Saturday, May 16 from 2-4pm 1776 to 2026: It’s the semiquincentennial of the formation of the United States after its Declaration of Independence. Wisconsin artists are challenged to interpret our country’s history and culture through the Wisconsin lens. Our state and its art have a unique place in America’s 250-year history, even though Wisconsin was not declared a state till 1848. After centuries of Indigenous art, explorers and immigrants all played a role in the state’s artistic evolution. How will you interpret our state’s unique social, cultural, historical, or political environment in any of its historical periods or present day?

Through her work, Witte examines everyday life on a farm, inspired by her own upbringing at Cedarburg’s own Witte’s Vegetable Farm.  Witte’s photography provides an intimate perspective into agricultural operations that has been long overlooked by the general population. Through this exhibition, Witte offers viewers an opportunity to catch a glimpse of the effort that goes into the production of the produce we all enjoy. This is Cedarburg: Cedarburg Landscapes and Plein Air Paintings from the CAM Collections April 30 – August 2, 2026 The Cedarburg Art Museum is pleased to present This is Cedarburg: Cedarburg Landscapes and Plein Air Paintings from the CAM Collection. This exhibition brings together examples of historic 20th century paintings of local landscapes alongside the winners of the Paint Cedarburg’s Plein Air Competition. When the Museum began in 2013, the generous gift of 49 works that started the permanent collection included the winning paintings from this annual event. Thanks to ongoing support from Mal and Jill Hepburn, the Cedarburg Art Museum continues to acquire the Best-In-Show painting from the competition. This is Cedarburg coincides with the 2026 Plein Air competition and looks forward to adding yet another winning work to the permanent collection.

Slow Light June 4-August 16, 2026 Upon entering the Museum's main gallery, housed in a nineteenth-century barn, visitors are often struck by its grand, cathedral-like architecture. This exhibition pays tribute to the barn's physical presence and to its current role as a space devoted to the display and preservation of fiber arts in all its forms. Conceived as a visual essay, the exhibition invites viewers to explore a sequence of interconnected ideas in which one artist’s work leads to the discovery of another. It encourages contemplation of textiles in relation to the Museum's structure and engages with the idea of fiber arts as inherently architectural. Slow Light marks the fifteenth anniversary of the Museum's presence in this building, prompting reflection on the significance of being here. It also invites us to consider how fiber can provide insight into the architecture that surrounds us, the ways our bodies interact with these spaces, their scale and constraints, and the broader human experience within them.

This exhibition brings together examples of historic 20th century paintings of local landscapes alongside the winners of the Paint Cedarburg’s Plein Air Competition. When the Museum began in 2013, the generous gift of 49 works that started the permanent collection included the winning paintings from this annual event. Thanks to ongoing support from Mal and Jill Hepburn, the Cedarburg Art Museum continues to acquire the Best-In-Show painting from the competition. This is Cedarburg coincides with the 2026 Plein Air competition and looks forward to adding yet another winning work to the permanent collection.

Slow Light June 4-August 16, 2026 Upon entering the Museum's main gallery, housed in a nineteenth-century barn, visitors are often struck by its grand, cathedral-like architecture. This exhibition pays tribute to the barn's physical presence and to its current role as a space devoted to the display and preservation of fiber arts in all its forms. Conceived as a visual essay, the exhibition invites viewers to explore a sequence of interconnected ideas in which one artist’s work leads to the discovery of another. It encourages contemplation of textiles in relation to the Museum's structure and engages with the idea of fiber arts as inherently architectural. Slow Light marks the fifteenth anniversary of the Museum's presence in this building, prompting reflection on the significance of being here. It also invites us to consider how fiber can provide insight into the architecture that surrounds us, the ways our bodies interact with these spaces, their scale and constraints, and the broader human experience within them.

Wisconsin artists are challenged to interpret our country’s history and culture through the Wisconsin lens. Our state and its art have a unique place in America’s 250-year history, even though Wisconsin was not declared a state till 1848. After centuries of Indigenous art, explorers and immigrants all played a role in the state’s artistic evolution. How will you interpret our state’s unique social, cultural, historical, or political environment in any of its historical periods or present day?

Deeply Rooted: Small Family Farms Photography by Leslie Witte April 30 – August 2, 2026 Opening Reception: Thursday, April 30th from 5 – 7 pm Leslie Witte brings her photography to the Cedarburg Art Museum in the exhibition Deeply Rooted: Small Family Farms. Through her work, Witte examines everyday life on a farm, inspired by her own upbringing at Cedarburg’s own Witte’s Vegetable Farm.  Witte’s photography provides an intimate perspective into agricultural operations that has been long overlooked by the general population. Through this exhibition, Witte offers viewers an opportunity to catch a glimpse of the effort that goes into the production of the produce we all enjoy. This exhibition runs from April 30 through August 2, 2026. An opening reception will be held on April 30 from 5pm to 7pm.
