May’s Cookbook Club focus is Mexican! The cookbook chosen for this month is: In Edith’s Kitchen: Recipes from My Mostly Mexican-American Home to Yours by Edith Galvez. If you are interested in join this month’s Cookbook Club (open to all), please let Director Westlund know!  Email at: [email protected]. Recipes chosen so far: Choriqueso Dip w/ chips – page 150 Macaroni Salad – page 175 Nutella Tres Leche Cake – page 185 Chicken with Alfredo Pasta – page 75     How Cookbook Club works: Come to the library and check out the featured cookbook.Take it home to explore and pick one recipe (you can make a copy of the recipe at the library or take a photo – this does not infringe on copyright laws) that you would be willing and able to make to bring to the Cookbook Club meeting to share.  You do not need to double the recipe – the original amount will be fine as we will be sharing multiple dishes and just take a sample of each at the meeting.Let Director Westlund know your choice so she can list that it has been taken (so we can avoid doubles) on the website.Prepare your dish and bring it, you, and a guest with to the Cookbook Club meeting!  When everyone has arrived we’ll eat, chat, discuss the cookbook, clean up and go!Cookbook Club usually only lasts for about an hour.

We’re ready to kick off the summer at the Forest Lodge Library!   This summer’s theme is: Unearth a Story.   We’ll be focusing our summer reading challenges and activities all around dinosaurs and fossils.   During our kick-off event, we’ll have crafts, games, and activities to do.  We’ll have summer reading challenge information for all ages.  Rowen, the reading dog, will be with us as well. We will have door prizes for participants that day as well.   Hope you can attend!  Saturday, May 30th from 10am to 2pm.
