We’ve heard many discussions lately on the subject of recycling–on what how where and of course why all the changes? We invite you to join us for “An Introduction to the 5 R’s of Sustainable Living–A Focus on Recycling” Wednesday February 3rd 7 p.m. virtually via Zoom as part of the on-going series of Community Education programs presented by the Sammamish Valley Grange in Woodinville. Kelly Rankich LEED Green Associate and Facility Manager at 21 Acres will introduce the concept of the 5 R's considered in order of importance they are “Refuse Reduce Re-Use Recycle and Rot.” After a brief introduction of each "R" Rankich will focus on topics related to recycling for the majority of this talk. The guidelines around recycling can be confusing and Kelly will help to provide answers to many of the more common misunderstood issues. “Moving toward a more sustainable lifestyle is a process and everyone is at a different stage ” said Rankich. “Join me for this workshop whether this is your first step or you are already well on your way.” Rankich is a long-time Woodinville resident. She is a Green LEED Associate and WSU Shohomish County Extension Sustainable Community Steward. As the 21 Acres Facility Manager Rankich helps operate and maintain their living laboratory for green building in support of the soils team farm market and other various programs. All ages are welcome and any efforts made toward reducing your environmental impacts will help in efforts to mitigate climate change.
