On the 3rd Monday of each month, from noon to 12:30pm, VDH employees will depart the state offices and walk "The Loop" (2x) along Mineral Street and Main Street, to promote community health. Participate simply by leaving your doorstep and walking for a half hour. Don't work in downtown Springfield? Walk wherever you are! Not available between noon and 12:30? Walk whenever you can! Senior Solutions is sponsoring two Fall Prevention Tai Chi classes in the Great Hall, 100 River St on Tuesdays starting September 7.  The beginner class will meet from 9:30 -10:30.  The class for intermediate/advanced practitioners will meet from 10:45 -11:45.  When practiced regularly, Tai Chi not only helps to lower the risk of falling but also improves concentration, leg strength, balance and coordination and reduces joint pain and stress.
