Shelburne Museum is excited to offer a Homeschool Day for our popular Passport to Learning program on Tuesday, May 26, 2026! Passport to Learning provides students in grades K-8 with hands-on and interactive guided workshops and self-guided activities across the Museum grounds. This standards-based, cross-curricular experience will enhance students’ understanding of social studies, art, and science. More details, including how to register, can be found here. Advance registration is required and space is limited.

Join us for the rare opportunity to see inside Brick House, Museum founder Electra Havemeyer Webb’s Vermont residence. Enjoy a one-hour tour followed by complimentary bubbly and light bites, and time to explore the gardens. Guided tours will showcase the stunning interiors where Webb shaped her vision for Shelburne Museum. Take in spring blooms, sweeping lake views, and special spots for reflection and photos while you enjoy this peaceful historic property. $50 for general public $40 for Shelburne Museum Members. American quilts carry a range of meanings involving degrees of handwork and headwork. “Handwork” affords space for embodying and reimagining craft traditions in service of contemporary concerns. “Headwork” honors memory and tradition, as well as past and future material histories. Katie Wood Kirchhoff, the Alice Cooney Frelinghuysen Curator of American Decorative Arts, leads a conversation ranging from African American quiltmaker Harriet Powers and the U.S. Postal Service to the AIDS Memorial Quilt to Burlington’s own Lilian Baker Carlisle, highlighting projects that have employed this medium to commemorate and concretize a diverse range of American histories, from the 19th century to the present day.
