26th Annual Sunday Afternoon Music Series Sunday 2:00 pm December 7th, 2025 Admission is Free Paul was the first performer to join us as we opened up after Covid. We are very excited to have a program of his music interspersed with Paul reading from his memoir “Stages: Ruminations, Rants, and Reminisces on a Life in Music”. With over 50 years as a performing musician with Kilimanjaro and The Unknown Blues Band with Big Joe Burrell here in Vermont and many impressive musicians including Muddy Waters, John Lee Hooker, Howlin’ Wolf, Lightnin’ Hopkins, Paul Butterfield, Magic Sam, Earl Hooker, David Bromberg, Paul Siebel, Mary McCaslin, Sonny Stitt, Jon Hendricks, Bobby McFerrin, his stories will be riveting! Transition Town Jericho Monday, December 8th, at 6 PM Transition Town Jericho hosts UVM professor Josh Farley in a talk “Rethinking Economics: Evolution, Community and Transition Towns”. With worsening social and ecological conditions, it is becoming evident that mainstream economics has failed people, society, and planet alike. We need a new economic model. Dr. Joshua Farley, renowned ecological economist will outline how modern evolutionary theory supports an economics driven by cooperation and altruism, not competition and selfishness. Transition Towns, and traditional worldviews, like Ubuntu and Territories of Life, show us another path is possible. Dr. Farley will illustrate these principles in action through an urban agroecology project transforming turf grass lawns into edible native ecosystems. Light refreshments provided. Toy Swap – Saturday, December 13th from 10 to 12 [all ages] Do you have toys your kids have outgrown? We’re hosting a toy swap for the gift giving season and we’re looking for donations. Donated toys must be in good, clean, working condition, and will only be accepted in the week leading up to the event, Tue. 12/9 to Fri. 12/12 during the library’s open hours. Please no clothes, costumes, or books. Toys left outside of donation hours will not be accepted. We will have bags available. You do not need to donate to take part in the swap.
