Burns Night

To the people of Scotland (and those of Scottish ancestry), Robert âRabbieâ Burns is a national hero.  Known as âThe Ploughman Poet,â he wrote hundreds of poems and songs, including  âA Red, Red Roseâ and âAuld Lang Syne,â and although he lived a shortish and tempestuous life, he is much-loved and celebrated--to the extent that thereâs even a night named in his honor.  This year, the library will be celebrating Burns Night at the Dick Wright Pub starting at 6 PM on Wednesday, February 18th.  Come and take part in the celebration and hear the âAddress to a Haggis,â among other delicious poetic morsels (and you can even try some vegetarian haggis if you dare!)
