The Pearl Fincher Museum of Fine Arts is delighted to present two new exhibitions this Fall. The Main Gallery will feature, “A Curated Life: Selections from the Collection of Andy Moran.” Andy and his late wife, Mary Lou Chester, began collecting in 1971 and developed a remarkable collection of work by African-American artists—many of whom were students of Dr. John Biggers and Carroll Harris Simms at Texas Southern University. “A Curated Life” features 47 works of art from Andy Moran’s private collection, including work by Dr. John Biggers, Kermit Oliver, Edsel Cramer, Julian Kyle, Linda Hinojos, and Earlie Hudnall, Jr. In the Cole Gallery, the Pearl will present “The Maker’s Muse: Contemporary Photography from the Artists of the American Society of Photographers.” This traveling exhibit features 60 images by members of the organization from across the country.   Both exhibitions open September 20, 2025 and continue through January 10, 2026. Admission is free, but donations are appreciated to help support the work of the museum.   Located at 6815 Cypresswood Drive in Spring, TX, the Pearl Fincher Museum of Fine Arts is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. The Woodlands Car Club and enthusiasts gather at Market Street the first Sunday of each month from 6ish-10ish a.m., to continue efforts to provide a fun and creative way to give back to our community.    The purpose behind this event is for us to provide a morning gathering to show off special vehicles within the car community, be a supportive partner with Market Street and the local community, share information about needful non-profit organizations in Montgomery County, and to give back monetarily as well.    We also like to spotlight various charities throughout the year, as well as small mom & pop businesses. We are also always looking for volunteers & sponsors for this event. The Woodlands Car Club has donated well-over $150,000 to over 100 local non-profits since 2001.

A free call-in public Law Line for residents of Montgomery County who have general legal questions is offered on the first Monday of every month at 281-645-6344 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. by volunteer attorneys from The Woodlands Bar Association. (If the first Monday is a Federal holiday, then the Law Line will be offered on the second Monday of that month.) Topics include bankruptcy, family law, criminal law, consumer protection, and more. The volunteer attorneys do not provide specific counseling yet offer general information and inform people about their rights and options and what legal resources may be available for callers to follow through with their concerns. Callers' identities, as well as the identities of the volunteer lawyers, will remain anonymous. This free public service is a project of The Woodlands Bar Association in conjunction with the United Way of Greater Houston, Montgomery County Center.
