The annual Madison-Goodlettsville Rotary Wine Tasting will be Friday, May 8, 6 – 9 p.m. in the Harken Hall lobby! Taste a variety of wines and bourbons while supporting Rotary’s educational projects, such as the dictionary project. Third graders in local participating schools receive a dictionary with lots of additional fun information to keep. For some, this is the first book that has been theirs, so there is a lot of excitement from the kids when members present the books to them! Sponsorships are a huge help to making this event successful, and a huge thanks goes to the Gold Sponsor: Edward Jones, Ralph and Shawna Ruby! Influenced by greats like Chris Stapleton and Marcus King, Albright’s music carries the grit of Southern rock with the intimacy of lived-in storytelling. From church stages in his hometown to building a global audience online, his songs feel raw, real, and deeply human—delivered with a voice that stays with you long after the last note. Joining the lineup is Future Crib, a Nashville-based four-piece redefining collaboration and connection through their “non-fiction rock.” Made up of Johnny Hopson, Julia Anderson, Bryce DuBray, and George Rezek, the band has spent years crafting a sound that’s as thoughtful as it is unfiltered. Their music feels like shared history—equal parts front porch storytelling and philosophical musing—grounded in a commitment to doing things the real way. Joining Murphey for this special evening is John McEuen, a founding member of the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band and one of the most influential figures in American roots music. A master multi-instrumentalist and driving force behind the landmark “Will the Circle Be Unbroken” recordings, McEuen has spent more than six decades preserving and advancing traditional folk, bluegrass and country music.
