Join us on Thursday, June 11th at 7pm for Sean of the South at the Jackson Theatre. Sean Dietrich, also known as Sean of the South, is a beloved columnist, novelist, musician, and storyteller whose heartfelt humor and Southern charm have made him a favorite voice across the American South. Join him for an evening of music, laughter, and stories that celebrate everyday life, faith, and the human spirit. Books and merch will be available before and after the show. Sean will be doing a meet and greet after the show–he’ll be hugging necks, signing books and taking photos. As always, please feel free to bring your books from home for Sean to sign. Starring: Norma Shearer, Lion Barrymore, Leslie Howard and ClarkGable This 1931 movie became famous for a good number of reasons.It marked leading lady Norma Shearer’s first role, following her Oscar winningperformance in “THE DIVORCEE” and solidified her reputationfor starring in provocative films about modern women in the early 1930s. Themovie not only proved to be the first time American film audiences took noticeof future star Clark Gable, but it also marked the first time that the latterwould co-star with Leslie Howard. The two actors reunited some eight yearslater in the 1939 Oscar winner, “GONE WITH THEWIND”. “A FREE SOUL” also became famous for a scene thatfeatured a monologue from Lionel Barrymore that may have led to the actor’sBest Actor Academy Award.
