Join us for a special summer experience as the Missoula Childrenâs Theatre partners with the Museum & Cultural Center at 5ive Points for a weeklong camp leading to two public performances of The Tortoise & The Hare. MCT, the nationâs largest touring childrenâs theatre, brings everything needed to stage a full production, except the cast. Local students audition, rehearse throughout the week, and present the show at the end of camp. Participants also attend enrichment workshops that support creativity, communication, and confidence. This free program offers young performers an encouraging and memorable introduction to live theatre.

When: June 8-13, 2026With performances on Friday, June 12 at 5 p.m. and Saturday, June 13 at noon Cost: Free Join us for a summer camp unlike any other, as the Missoula Childrenâs Theater Camp prepares local students to present a performance of âThe Tortoise & The Hare!â The Missoula Childrenâs Theatre (MCT), the nationâs largest touring childrenâs theatre, comes to the Museum & Cultural Center at 5ive Points! MCT has been touring extensively for more than 50 years now from Montana to Japan, and will visit nearly 1,000 communities this year with up to 44 teams of Tour Actor/Directors. A tour team arrives in a given town with a set, lights, costumes, and props, everything it takes to put on a playâŚexcept the cast. The team holds an open audition and casts 50-60 local students to perform in the production. The show is rehearsed throughout the week and two public performances are presented on Saturday. All MCT shows are original adaptations of classic childrenâs stories and fairytales . . . a twist on the classic stories that you know and love. Also included in the residency are three enrichment workshops presented by the Tour Actor/Directors. Creativity, social skills, goal achievement, communication skills and self-esteem are all characteristics that are attained through the participation in this unique, educational project. MCTâs mission is the empowerment of children and adults through theatre education and performance to develop lifelong skills while enriching communities worldwide through live productions.
