We’re partnering with the Pennsylvania State Police to bring you free car seat safety checks. Officer personnel certified as Child Passenger Safety Technicians will be on site conducting complimentary child seat fittings. At an event, caregivers can have their car seats checked for suitability, receive instruction on proper installation, and have seat(s) installed. This service is free and no appointment is required. The backpack includes noise cancelling headphones, fidget toys, a stress ball, thinking putty and laminated copies of EPZ’s Social Story, sensory map, and sensory guide. Guests may request a sensory backpack upon their arrival at the Admissions window. Guests must provide the zoo with a valid ID. The zoo will hold this ID until the backpack is returned.   QUIET SPACEA dedicated quiet space is located at the south facing side of the bison exhibit. The designation, given by the International Board of Credentialing and Continuing Education Standards (IBCCES), is awarded to organizations who have completed a training and review process with the goal to better serve individuals with autism and other sensory needs.

Rise and shine!Yearly members* are invited to enjoy exclusive early access to the Zoo on the first Wednesday of every month! Join us one hour before we open to the public for a morning stroll without the crowds.  Highlights:Giraffe Feeding: Depending on the time of year, participate in a giraffe feeding during your visit. Tickets are $4 per person and are available for purchase at the exhibit inside the Savanna Station pavilion. Giraffe feedings are available only when temperatures are above 55°F. Bring a Guest for Free: All membership levels include one additional guest for Member Mornings Plus—free of charge!   Important Details:No Pre-Registration Required: Simply present a valid photo ID and your current membership card upon arrival. Giraffe Feeding: Purchase tickets at the exhibit inside the Savanna Station pavilion. Everyone entering the giraffe feeding deck must purchase a feeding ticket, except for babies ages 0–2. Children under 13 must be accompanied by an adult. Designed for adults ages 25-50, this one-hour class is perfect for all fitness levels. The event will run from 8:00 AM to 9:00 AM, with a giraffe feeding experience from 9:00 AM to 9:30 AM.
