Nature at Night: Wild Neighbors

Â Nature at NightÂ âÂ Experience Tyler Arboretum after hours through a series of family-friendly summer evenings filled with wildlife encounters, outdoor adventures, guided experiences, and memorable moments in nature after dark._____ Meet some of the fascinating animals that call Pennsylvania home. Get up close with live animal ambassadors and discover how local wildlife survives, adapts, and shares the landscape with us every day. Learn about the challenges these animals face, the important roles they play in healthy ecosystems, and the simple ways people can help protect wildlife close to home. _____ About the presenter: Special guest Dawn White from the Indian Run Environmental Education Center brings a spectacular range of live animals from their facility based in Glenmoore, PA Indian Run cares for non-releasable birds of prey, and is also home to snakes, turtles, and a tarantula. Wherever Dawn and her animals go, audiences of all ages get a rare, up-close encounter with wildlife they wonât find anywhere else. Indian Run is led by Dawn White, who has worked as a naturalist and Environmental Educator for 30 years. She graduated from Penn State University with a Bachelor of Science in Recreation and Park Management, concentrating in Environmental Interpretation. Her career began at the former Great Valley Nature Center in Devault, PA, where her love of birds of prey and teaching with live animals took root. She went on to design and lead environmental education programs at the Nature Center, Elmwood Park Zoo, and Green Valleys Watershed Association before founding Indian Run to continue that work under her own roof. Moth Night

FOR ADULTS 18+ AND TEENS AGES 13-17 Step into the nighttime world and discover whatâs flying after dark! Explore moths and other nocturnal insects during an evening of mothing. Gather around light stations that attract these often-overlooked pollinators, and observe their surprising colors, patterns, and behaviors up close. A local mothing expert will be on-site to help identify species and share tips you can use at home. Learn a few common species, discover why moths matter, and pick up simple ways to support them in your own backyard. This relaxed, eye-opening program is perfect for curious adults, teens, and anyone whoâs never noticed how alive the night can be. Arrive curious, leave inspired.
