SCM Level 1 Participants will learn about the JKM–Safe Crisis Management Program. Participants will receive introductory instruction in behavior, trauma, and de-escalation skills. They will also participate in the fundamental components of Emergency Safety Physical Interventions (ESPIs). Participants must complete the LEVEL I written exam & complete a physical skill out that is based on single person techniques. *Participants must not only complete these two components but also be proficient with the technologies (ESPIs) to be certified. Participants will receive in-depth instruction in de-escalation techniques and discuss “real time” scenarios. Participants will participate in ESPI instruction that begins with single person interventions to multi-person interventions.
