This program takes place on the second Thursday. Dr. Raymond E. Janifer will talk about his inspiring memoir, Chestnut Hollow Blues. This is the first part of a series of three books chronicling his ideas, challenges, and encounters through his career in higher education. He will also discuss contemporary American society and the importance of cultural diversity. Dr. Janifer is Professor Emeritus of English and the Ethnic Studies Program at Shippensburg University. Light refreshments will be offered. Open to the public, and free.

This group meets to support area artists, from beginners to the nearly professional. Monthly meetings are devoted to demonstrations or critiques of members' work. There is also a website, and a monthly newsletter that describes exhibition opportunities and classes in the area. Meetings are free, although there is a small yearly fee to become a member. Each member is allowed to enter four pieces in the show, which is held annually, in June. Meetings are open to the public, and free. The social time takes place during the first half hour, and the meeting starts at 1 p.m.
