Directed by Tony Award-winner Tom Morris OBE (War Horse, Dr Semmelweis, The Grinning Man) with music by PJ Harvey, this epic story of manipulation, jealousy and toxic masculinity explores the darker side of power, rage and desire. Experience An evening of inspiration and poetry, followed by Q&A. Washington Poet Laureate Derek Sheffield will share his work, followed by a Q & A sessionThis event is supported in part by the Washington State Arts Commission (ArtsWA) and Humanities Washington. Celebrated poet and professor Derek Sheffield is Washington’s eighth State Poet Laureate. Sheffield lives in the Wenatchee Valley and serves as a professor of English at Wenatchee Valley College. He has published several poetry collections and edits poetry for Terrain.org, and has also received fellowships from the Sustainable Arts Foundation, Artist Trust, the Bernheim Arboretum and Research Forest, and the Spring Creek Foundation for his poetry. The Washington State Poet Laureate builds awareness and appreciation of poetry through public readings, workshops, lectures, and presentations. Laureates perform this work in culturally and geographically diverse communities throughout the state. Gesa Power House Theatre proudly presents SPACEWOMAN on Wednesday, February 15, 2026, at 7PM. This program is supported, in part, by Friends of Gesa Power House Theatre, and a grant from the Washington State Arts Commission. Astronaut Eileen Collins was the first woman to pilot and command an American spacecraft. Born on the other side of the tracks in upstate New York, she smashed many glass ceilings in the US Air Force and at NASA in her career, culminating in four increasingly dramatic and dangerous space shuttle missions. With an incredible set of archival materials, intimate interviews, and a moving score by Marcelo Zarvos, Hannah Berryman’s nail-biting film shares the emotional journey experienced by Eileen’s family, and explores what level of risk is acceptable in human endeavour. Gesa Power House Theatre, and Teatro Popular are proud to partner in welcoming actor and screenwriter, Darius Wallace to the stage in this latest production, THE POET. THE PROPHET. THE MADMAN. THE DREAMER. Join us on Friday, April 17 at 7pm for this incredible live theatre production. After living nine lives ruled by fear, fate, and deferred dreams, one man discovers the transformative power of faith and claims his true calling as poet, prophet, madman, and dreamer. Blending autobiography and myth, this one-man performance follows a variety of characters, songs and audience interaction in the life of a man and actor who becomes awakened to his personal power and the collective liberation. Darius is no stranger to stories. He has been in several Hollywood Movies(Nothing But The Truth, Brian Banks and The World We Make). His most recent staring role is as Charles Harlen Private Eye in Damaged Goods. He has been seen on television in Law And Order and Law And Order SVU. His most recent tv role is in the hit Hulu show Reasonable Doubt. He is a founding company member of Tennessee Shakespeare in Memphis Tennessee and he has performed all over the country in thousands of schools, universities, theaters and libraries as Frederick Douglass and Langston Hughes. His original One Man Show (My Words Are My Swords) has performed with The Portland Chamber Orchestra and the Walla Walla Symphony Orchestra. He also has been the TEDx Memphis speech coach for seven years. He is a practitioner of Tai Chi/Chi Gong and teaches methods of self improvement through meditation. Currently Darius is also directing, writing and producing movies. Don’t miss this night of sensational music, as MAKING MOVIES takes the stage at Gesa Power House Theatre! This event is supported by ArtsWA, Creative West, and the National Endowment for the Arts. Latin Grammy-nominated band MAKING MOVIES is rooted in the rich traditions of Panamá, a crisol de razas (an immigration program), the band’s sound is an embodiment of those diverse cultures, and its music encompasses the entirety of the Americas. The band interweaves styles as divergent as cumbia and blues, salsa, soul, and rock’n’roll – all boiled down into their own original sound. The work of MAKING MOVIES includes collaborations with legendary artists like Rubén Blades, performances at major international festivals, and tours with notable acts such as Los Lobos, Ozomatli, Hurray For the Riff Raff, Maldita Vecindad, and Flor De Toloache, and has been featured on NPR. Founder, Enrique Chi—a songwriter, musician, filmmaker, and activist—is also producing AMERI’KANA TV, a National Endowment for the Arts-funded documentary that explores an alternate history of American music and is set to release alongside their new studio album in 2026.
