Drop-in to ask questions and receive one-on-one assistance with a variety of topics, including but not limited to: Basic computer skills (e.g. how to use a mouse, open and close programs, create and save documents) Setting up and using an email account Using search engines and the internet Transferring files and photos between devices Basic smartphone and tablet skills (e.g. how to make a call, send a text message, install and use an app) Plan a custom PC build (e.g. determine hardware compatibility, budget for components, tips for assembly) Optimize your gaming PC (e.g. enable XMP/DOCP RAM profiles, install latest graphics drivers) No matter your level of experience, we welcome you to join us! Need practice reading? Clementine can help! Children learning or struggling to read can register for a 15 minute reading session between 5-6 pm to practice their skills and make a new friend with trained therapy cat Clementine. Sign up by visiting the library or calling (503) 259-0185. Please limit one session per month, up to two per quarter. Frequently Asked Questions Who may register for this program? Any child who would like to practice reading. There is no age limit, but children should be starting or struggling to read. This is not a program for parents who want to read aloud to their children in the company of a therapy animal. Can readers bring books from home? Yes, or they can arrive early and choose a book from the library. Should parents be there to help their child? Parents are encouraged to allow their children space to practice reading skills independently. Younger kids may ask an adult to stay close depending on comfort level.
