The Johnston County Coalition of Chambers is thrilled to partner with Johnston County Public Schools to celebrate the 32nd Annual Flame for Learning Awards. This prestigious event highlights the creativity, innovation, and dedication of our public school teachers. Each year, nominees are selected based solely on merit, showcasing their remarkable impact in the classroom. The winner will be named Johnston County Teacher of the Year and go on to represent our district in the North Carolina Teacher of the Year competition. Your Support Makes This Celebration Possible! Sponsorships play a critical role in making this event a success, with much of the funding directly benefiting our semifinalists. All sponsors will receive special recognition during the ceremony. You're invited to celebrate with us as we honor leaders in our community who are investing their time, talent, and resources to make Triangle East the wonderful place we get to call home! 2025 Legacy Award Nominees Lifetime Achievement Award  Presented to a citizen or citizens who, over their lifetime, have consistently served the Triangle East region with outstanding ability and dedication by voluntarily giving of their time, talent and energies without remuneration.    Citizen of the Year Award Presented to a citizen or citizens who, over the last year, have consistently served the Triangle East region with outstanding ability and dedication by voluntarily giving of their time, talent and energies without remuneration.  Jimmy Creech Small Businessperson of the Year Award This award is given in memory of 1976 Board Chair Jimmy Creech who operated Creech's Pharmacy in downtown Smithfield for over 50 years. It is presented to the outstanding small business owner in the community based on success, longevity and commitment to the community.  Emerging Leader Award Leaders under age 40 recognized for their contributions to the betterment of our community and impact on their business/organization.
