Interns will travel together from the United States to Belem, Brazil, where they will experience the local culture and serve at a three-day International Family Retreat in cooperation with our in-country church partner. TrainingInterns will receive two days of training prior to International Family Retreat, and receive guidance and mentorship on how to use their gifts and talents to serve others and glorify God.Practical applicationStudents will put their two-day training to work serving as a one-on-one buddy for a person living with disability, or in general service at the retreat, facilitating worship or activities such as games and art projects. Students also will have the opportunity to serve in various capacities in partnership with the local church.Cost and Safety ProtocolsThe cost for this outreach is all-inclusive however, any pre-outreach vaccination requirements are the responsibility of each individual traveler. Outreach costs may vary for applicants outside of the 48 contiguous United States. Joni and Friends will adhere to country protocols related to health and safety requirements. If Joni and Friends cancels the event, we will refund or reallocate the donations in accordance with our current policies.
