 Tinsel & Traditions Home Tour | 3–8 PM Step inside Hillsborough’s history with this reimagined take on the beloved Candlelight Home Tours. Visit multiple homes, each representing a different time period, all within the town’s historic district.   Please note: All tour stops are private residences with limited accessibility. Most feature only the first floor and may require walking up a few front steps.   Ticketed event — $25 per person; kids 12 & under free. Purchase tickets HERE. Ticket sales end at 7:00 PM on December 6.  Check-in at the Alexander Dickson House before beginning your tour.  Special thanks to the Hillsborough Garden Club for providing festive outdoor decorations.

Join us for a candlelight procession from the Visitors Center to the Old Courthouse for the Holiday Tree Lighting ceremony and community sing-along of holiday favorites. The procession will start at the Hillsborough Visitor Center at 5:00 pm at 150 East King Street and we will proceed to the Old Courthouse at 104 East King Street where the tree will be lit after the sing along time.

REGISTRATION FOR THE HILLSBOROUGH HOLIDAY PARADE IS CLOSED! ALL SPOTS HAVE BEEN TAKEN. The Hillsborough Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce the return of the Light Up The Night Hillsborough Holiday Parade on Sunday, December 7th, 2025 at 4:00 pm.  Downtown Hillsborough will welcome thousands of residents and visitors to enjoy the popular annual event, as part of the Hillsborough Hometown Holidays Festival season. The parade will feature bands, local and area businesses, cheerleaders and dance troupes, well-known mascots, and, of course, Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus!  The parade will travel through downtown Hillsborough, south on Churton St from Corbin St to Margaret Lane, and end at the intersection of Margaret Lane & Cameron St. Residents and visitors are encouraged to come out early to secure parking and a favorite viewing spot and to enjoy holiday shopping and a bite to eat before the parade, view the "Home For The Holidays" gingerbread house competition displays in the windows of selected business and vote for your favorite ones.

Informal creative sessions – a time for artists, dabblers, and anyone seeking a creative outlet to share inspiration and camaraderie while creating their own art in their medium(s) of choice. You are welcome to bring work in progress or start something new. You can use your own supplies or supplies we have here, or a combination – we have on hand materials ranging from substrates to paints, tools, and mixed media and art journalling materials, as well as reference materials. All skill levels are welcome -- while there is no instruction, you will find friendly people, suggestions, and reference materials.  Pay as you please, $15 suggested (we recognize everyone’s usage is different, so please just pay what you think is fair). We set out a jar for cash or check, and can supply a paylink if you want to pay by card online. For adults and mature teens, all skill levels welcome; school age youth welcome if accompanied by a supervising adult.
