Join us in October as we continue our year of Education & Workforce Council discussions. This year our focus is on Student Access & Success. We hope to explore the agencies, partners, and individuals that contribute to the educational and personal growth of our community's students. In October we will hear from OE Enterprises as they speak about the opportunities they provide for individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities. Here’s what you can expect: Check-In & Registration When you arrive, check-in will be located in the front lobby. Explore MedCenter Mebane Take a walk through the first floor of MedCenter Mebane, where representatives from various departments will be stationed throughout the building. Meet members of the team, learn more about the services they provide, and participate in a fun passport activity as you explore. Food, Drinks & Networking After exploring the facility, head to the courtyard to enjoy food, beer and wine. Cocktail tables will be available throughout the space, creating an easygoing atmosphere to mingle, connect and enjoy the evening. Curious about AI but not sure where to begin? You’re not alone.   This practical, beginner-friendly workshop is designed for Alamance Chamber investors who want to understand how tools like ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini can help them save time, reduce repetitive work, and run their businesses more efficiently.   You’ll see AI in action and get hands-on experience using it for everyday tasks such as writing emails, organizing ideas, working with spreadsheets, researching business questions, and creating reusable prompts. No technical background or previous AI experience is required.   You’ll leave with a clearer understanding of what AI can—and cannot—do, along with practical tools and at least one repeatable way to put AI to work in your business right away. Bring a laptop and a real task you’d like to make easier. Micah Ray, our workshop presenter is Co-Founder of D4 Concepts, where he advises design, construction, and service-based SMB owners on strategy, leadership, and AI readiness. His path started in a family furniture business and continued through years at Liberty Hardware—where he built deep expertise in strategy, innovation, and operational leadership as the company grew from $10M to over $200M.    He co-founded D4 with his business partner Mike Witt in 2019 to help businesses solve problems that hold them back. Through D4’s AI strategy practice and as Co-Founder of Zaiflow (AI automation and agent development), Micah helps leaders clarify strategy and processes before they implement technology. He is a Certified GiANT Worldwide Guide and regularly facilitates workshops for industry associations and company leadership teams.

This is an opportunity to learn from other owners who understand the day-to-day realities of running a small business. Welcome to ElevateHER Entrepreneurs, designed just for female entrepreneurs/small business owners! This program is all about building community. After all, nobody supports an entrepreneur better than another entrepreneur. This event is designed to create space for female founders/owners to lean on each other, to encourage one another during the business lows, and to celebrate the business highs, and for all to know that we have each other's backs.  We will enjoy meeting fellow founders/owners and connecting with each other over coffee at one of the most unique businesses in the area! Come learn more about this company and the owner's entrepreneurial story. Bring your business cards, flyers, and/or brochures. We will have an announcement board so you may share any news. You are welcome to drop-in as your schedule allows or come and stay for the entire event.
