For 4 one-hour themed sessions, students shall be encouraged to complete sentences and phrases in French by using visual stories, movement, songs and skits, in which the students are interactive with each other, while engaging in the use of French words. They shall also learn numbers and everyday objects, using drawings they create while writing the names of those items in French. Movement shall also be incorporated. Students shall learn phrases relating to greetings, manners, questions and expressions. The instructor shall speak to them in French as much as possible. This course can also prepare the students for any future classes they plan to take in French, by encouraging them to have fun and use their own imagination while learning a new language. Instructor Linda Diamond has a B.A. in French from the University of Southern California. and studied at the Sorbonne in Paris in the Ecole d’Interpretes et Traducteurs. She is an accomplished choreographer. In Paris where she lived for 5 years, Linda has taught Modern dance in French for the Salle Pleyel, Ateliers du Marais, and the Danse Partout, where she created Hommage à Chagall for the group. Linda has taught French at Hunter College Elementary and full time at the Lycée Kennedy French School, where she was the only certified NY Dept. of Ed teacher and taught dance and art using the French language. She has studied Ayurveda and other ancient Vedic practices for over a decade, including training with Maha Vidya Yoga and Ayurveda under Carlisle Amlak and Zaplin Vermie, studies with Dr. Amruta Athale through the Ayra Academy in India, and anatomy and movement with Simon Borg of Yoga Synergy. Her work is grounded in consistent personal practice and the teachings of Sri Kaleshwar, which continue to inform her understanding of healing, awareness, and everyday spiritual practice. Ashley is passionate about making ancient wisdom practical, accessible, and relevant to modern life. She lives in Woodstock, NY, where she offers one-on-one client support, balancing food and community knowledge sharing. Ashley finds grounding in family, cooking, and nature walks.
