French-American choreographer Carole Alexis and her Ballet des Amériques dance company bring a rich and sprawling repertoire to the Tarrytown Music Hall in a new series called Westchester Wednesday Dance. These weekday evenings of dance offer audiences a break in the workday routine and a chance to witness the original work of the Music Hall’s company in residence. Treat yourself to a Wednesday night of vibrant culture! A student of Maurice Béjart, Alexis’ choreography is rooted in classical ballet training and tradition while drawing on influences as disparate as children’s games, island rituals, natural phenomena, and modern urban life. Her dances entice and charm the viewer with elements of humor, psychological insight and surprise. Her company’s extensive and eclectic repertoire bears her distinctive signature and vision, reinvigorating “ballet” for new audiences and dance connoisseurs alike. For the second performance of the series, on Wednesday, February 20, Ballet des Amériques will present Of Flowers and Tears, Boléro and Lentil Soup.

The Lords of 52nd Street are Billy Joel’s original band.. They do not need to copy or reinvent the original music, since they are the guys you saw playing at Madison Square Garden, Carnegie Hall, Nassau Coliseum and the countless other venues during those Billy Joel concerts of the 1970’s and 1980’s. The Lords of 52nd Street are the legendary bandmates who recorded and toured the world for many years with the “Piano Man.” They helped to create one of the most recognizable sounds in music recording the sax, drum and guitar solos on over 150 million albums sold with Billy Joel as well. The band is led by Richie Cannata on tenor saxophone, Liberty DeVitto on drums and percussion, and Russell Javors on rhythm guitar. Their collaboration helped change the face of music. They have worked individually with multi-platinum artists, lending their talents to some of the greatest musicians in the world. After 30+ years the band has finally reunited, and haven’t missed a step with this mind blowing show. Critics love them and their performances have been blowing away fans of all ages.

Based on his childhood memories of working men and gangsters in the Italian-American neighborhood where he grew up, Palminteri originally wrote the script for the stage and performed it in Los Angeles where it became the hottest property in Hollywood since ROCKY. He moved the production to New York, where the stage version played to sold-out audiences for four months and earned him Outer Critics Circle Awards for both acting and writing. While in New York he completed the screenplay and soon found himself playing the role of Sonny on the big screen opposite Robert De Niro. Few artists can claim they defined a generation FELIX CAVALIERE continues to remind us to keep listening for the world’s beauty. Early in 1965 FELIX CAVALIERE formed the ‘Young Rascals’ with Dino Danelli Eddie Brigati and Gene Cornish. That October they caught the attention of promoter/manager Sid Bernstein with their high-energy set at Long Island’s elite club Barge. Signed to Atlantic Records and now called The Rascals the mega hit “Good Lovin’” struck No. 1 in February 1966.
