Are you a romance fan?  Romance books have had a recent surge of popularity in the last two years, and Lewisboro Library is jumping in with a meet-cute all our own! You’re invited to join our newest romance book club, Under the Covers, led by our adult reference librarian Colleen Oakes. From modern to historical, our romance picks will be a wide selection of new, exciting, trending and diverse reads. Under the Covers will meet the first Monday of every month. Our book selection for this month is Overdue, by Stephanie Perkins. Attend all 12 sessions, or as many as you are able. Each session will deal with a different topic. “Show Me the Money” will cover demystifying the financial process and discuss scholarships, grants, and work-study options. The series is intended to help high school teens establish a personalized roadmap to guide them in the college process. You’ll learn how to make the most of your four years in high school, setting yourself up for success in college and beyond. Explore the importance of striking a balance between academics and extracurricular activities, discover effective ways to cope with stress and anxiety, and uncover the secrets of securing internships, volunteer opportunities, and apprenticeships. Prepare yourself for standardized tests, conduct thorough research on colleges and universities, and gain the confidence to ace your interviews and make informed decisions. The program is presented in partnership with: Bronxville Public Library, Greenburgh Public Library, John C. That is a mixed-level gathering, with many newer players who have taken “Mahjong for Beginners” at the Library. In Flight Interrupted: Preventing Bird-Window Strikes at Home, Susan Fisher, former board president at Bedford Audubon, delivers a practical crash course in understanding why birds fly into windows, how significant the problem really is, and some simple, affordable steps homeowners can take to create their own bird-friendly windows to stop these deadly strikes. Susan Fisher is a longtime volunteer with Bedford Audubon.
