Are you a die-hard romance fan? Still new to the genre?  Romance books have had a recent surge of popularity in the last two years, and Lewisboro Library is jumping in with a meet-cute all our own! You’re invited to our newest romance book club, Under the Covers! Led by our adult reference librarian Colleen Oakes, Under the Covers will provide a once-monthly meeting to connect about our shared read, dive deeper, swoon louder and share favorite romance recommendations. From modern to historical, our romance picks will be a wide selection of new, exciting, trending and diverse reads.  Each month will be a different theme with a suggested title, and we’ll share our takeaways while enjoying tasty treats, courtesy of the Library. Under the Covers will meet the first Monday of every month. Our first meeting will be January 5th, and our first read will be Good Spirits by B.K Borison. Please register below.

Grades K – 5 In this program, children will read to therapy dogs, which helps children develop their reading skills and their sense of compassion. They will also learn about animal-savvy behavior and volunteerism. The program will be led by volunteers from ROAR (Ridgefield Operation for Animal Rescue). It will take place on the first Thursday of each month (excluding January, which is New Year’s Day!) There are four 15-minute time slots available –  4:00 pm, 4:15 pm, 4:30 pm and 4:45 pm. (Siblings share a time slot, so please only register one FAMILY.) There will be two therapy dogs, so two families can register per time slot. Please register below for your desired time slot (the first one is 4 pm, second is 4:15 pm, etc). Since the time slots are only 15 minutes, please arrive promptly so you don’t miss any of your time! It’s BROADWAY on Main Street!  Come kick off the Library’s 2026 concert series with an evening of show tunes from classics to little-known gems. The talented group of performers have been performing Broadway Nights together since 2014. Each has an impressive musical background. Heather Mieko Lackey toured with The King and I, Buddy! The Buddy Holly Story, and Cats. She is currently the Chief of Staff to Assemblymember Chris Burdick. Barbara Anselmi has many years of experience as a music director/arranger and orchestrator. Her musical, It Shoulda Been You, played on Broadway and is now in regional theatres across the country. Heather Villaescusa Haddad is an award-winning cabaret artist, and has toured with Crazy for You and Guys and Dolls. Jay Haddad is an actor/singer who has appeared in regional productions of Little Shop of Horrors, Cabaret, and Merrily we Roll Along. Johnny Hawkins has toured with Jesus Christ Superstar and Cabaret, and performed as a soloist at venues like The Hollywood Bowl and the Goodspeed Opera House. Reserved seating is $45 per person. Are you a true crime fan? Don’t miss our Author Talk with Rich Cohen on Sunday, January 11 at 4 pm. His latest book, Murder in the Dollhouse: The Jennifer Dulos Story details the nail-biting investigation into the mysterious disappearance of Jennifer Dulos in 2019 and the aftershocks that rattled the nearby suburb of New Canaan, CT. In 2019, the quiet suburb of New Canaan, CT was shocked by the disappearance of Jennifer Dulos, a mother of five who vanished one morning after dropping her kids off at school. In the wake of her disappearance, Dulos’s husband and his girlfriend were arrested. He killed himself on the day he was supposed to report to court she was tried and convicted of conspiracy to commit murder, despite the fact that to this day Jennifer Dulos has never been found. Murder in the Dollhouse is his latest, but Rich Cohen is also known as the best-selling author of Monsters: The 1985 Chicago Bears and the Wild Heart of Football The Sun & the Moon & the Rolling Stones and The Chicago Cubs: Story of a Curse.   Rich’s talk will be followed by a book signing.
