In partnership with the Rome African American Heritage Association (AAHA) and the Rome NAACP, the Rome City School District will celebrate Black History Month during a special event on Tuesday, February 10, beginning at 6:30 p.m. at the Rome Free Academy Auditorium. The event will honor and highlight this year’s Black History Month theme, “A Century of Black History Commemorations,” with a special emphasis on the spirit of being an overcomer and overcoming, hand-in-hand. The celebration will include an evening of music, performances, storytelling, art, and poetry through contributions by our students, staff, community partners, and special guests.
