President Franklin Delano Roosevelt first used the phrase âarsenal of democracyâ nearly a year before the US officially entered WWII to refer to the United Stateâs role in providing weapons, ammunition, and other industrial support for Allied forces overseas. In this presentation, historian Michael Robbins will provide an overview into exactly what that arsenal looked like, and how American industry and production turned the tides by producing two-thirds of all the war material of the Allies in the last four years of the war.

đAutumn is creeping in, but youâll be warm and toasty at one of the many eateries around the Village when you sign up for our Village Wide Pub Crawl! We are excited to kick off this festive fundraiser and help liven up a chilly Thursday evening while supporting the services provided by your library.đ What is it? Can you believe how many amazing local eateries there are in our small village? Come enjoy some great food, friends, and drinks at various restaurantsâall within walking distance of the library! How does it work? Tickets can be purchased online for $45. On Thursday, October 15th between 5:00 and 7:00pm, pick up your envelope from the library, containing vouchers for discounted drinks from each location on the crawl. These tickets will allow one drink at each restaurant, so be sure to keep moving along and enjoy the unique vibes of each spot! Tickets may also be purchased at the door on the night of the event. Where is this? The Kinderhook Library is the starting point for the evening. After that, visit each of the locations in any order: Isola Wine BarSaisonnierThe AviaryPlus, we are partnering with the Kinderhook Bottle Shop for an exclusive wine tasting as a part of the tour!
