Stitchfest is a free meet-up for knitters and crocheters of all skill levels.Stitchfesters gather together for fun, to learn, to admire finished projects, for inspiration, to get help with new skills, and to enjoy the company of other yarn enthusiasts. There is no registration and no attendance requirements. We are very casual. If you can't make it at 2:30, come whenever you can. If you have to leave early, go ahead. The meet-up does end promptly at 4:30; therefore if you need help please come as close to 2:30 pm as possible. The Friends of the Library support Stitchfest and we have some supplies to get you started. If you are unsure if knitting or crocheting is the hobby for you don't go shopping yet. Instead, borrow the needles and yarn from the Library before you make an investment.Please join us-- everyone is welcome. Manon and Werther are staples of opera repertoires all over the world. Many believe Grisélidis, Le jongleur de Notre-Dame, Don Quichotte, Thais and Cendrillon should be given as much attention. Jules Massenet composed more than thirty operas. In the 1930's Sir Thomas Beecham told the critic Neville Cardus, "I would give the whole of Bach's Brandenburg Concertos for Massenet's Manon, and would think I had vastly profited by the exchange." In 1994, the eminent critic, Andrew Porter, wrote: "Who knows Manon, Werther and Don Quichotte knows the best of Massenet, but not his range from heroic romance to steamy verismo."
