Open House The BSMS Open House opportunities are designed for ALL students, grades 6-8, to visit the building, take a tour of the school, and follow their schedule to find their classrooms.  Experienced middle school students will be available to answer questions and talk with students about the middle school experience.  Orientation Middle School orientation will be provided to all of our students and will happen during the first few school days.  In each of your child's 4 core area classes (Math, Science, ELA and Social Studies) your child will experience a series of mini lessons on how to "do" middle school; these lessons will take place in small chunks over the first 8 days of school and reviewed periodically.  Topics will include, but are not limited to, how to read your schedule, how & when to access your locker, use of the agenda, general school rules and responsibilities, school offices and staff, safety drills and of course Chromebook care and general digital citizenship.  This method of orientation allows us to be sure ALL students begin the year with a clear understanding of middle school expectations and responsibilities.
