John Kenrick is the creator of Musicals101.com and the author of The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Amateur Theatricals, and the textbook Musical Theater: A History. In the vibrant land of Bergenland, where the Trolls love to sing, dance, and perform, trouble brews when a strict foreign emissary threatens to disrupt their cheerful world. With the threat of being turned into a diplomatic dish by a vengeful Chef looming over them, Poppy and her friends must revamp their show to meet the high expectations. As the Trolls scramble to make last-minute changes, King Gristle juggles his royal duties, his blossoming romance with Bridget, and the demands of a spoiled aristocrat with a bottomless appetite. We are thrilled to once again partner with DreamWorks Theatricals and Music Theatre International to pilot this brand-new production! Our performers will be some of the first to ever perform this show onstage and will get to play an integral role in the developmental process. Celebrate Yom Haatzmaut at the J with a classic Israeli film and the chance to meet legendary filmmaker Avi Nesher!  Free admission with registration REGISTER HERE(Advance registration preferred) The Troupe, a musical comedy about an IDF entertainment troupe during the 1969 War of Attrition with Egypt, launched the careers of several iconic Israeli actors and musicians in 1978 including: Gidi Gov, Dov Glickman, and Meir Suissa. It has remained popular in Israel ever since, and continues to be shown annually on Israeli television. The Troupe is the first film written and directed by Avi Nesher, who has special status among Israeli filmmakers. His films include Rage and Glory, Turn Left at the End of the World, The Matchmaker, Past Life, Image of Victory, and The Monkey House (NJJFF 2024).
