In celebration of Father’s Day, it is excited to host a complimentary family photo event for seniors and their loved ones. This community event is completely free and will offer seniors and their families the opportunity to receive professional-style Father’s Day family photos in a relaxed outdoor setting. Sessions will last approximately 30 minutes or less, and all photos will be professionally edited and emailed within one week to the email address provided during the session. For residents in assisted living, hospice, or independent living communities who may not be able to attend at the park, ComForCare will coordinate on-site visits by appointment during the weeks of June 1 and June 8.

  In 2017, dedicated crews of volunteer native gardeners turned a barren, vacant lot in downtown Millville into a thriving wildlife oasis—marking CU Maurice River's first urban greening and beautification project. Since then, this space has become a stopover for many pollinators and backyard bird species. It also serves the downtown community as a place close to home where neighbors can relax, observe nature, and deepen their appreciation for the outdoors and the natural resources that support the Wild and Scenic Maurice River Watershed's health.  In April, a group of volunteer gardeners refreshed the woodchip path by adding a new layer. In May, they  cut and removed stems and weeded the front garden border and beds. On this upcoming volunteer workgroup in June, they will be weeding and cleaning up the back half of the garden, removing invasive vines, bushes, and trees, and providing more space for the volunteer desirable native species that are emerging. This is a great opportunity to learn about the native tree and bush species, the species they host, and how they can be used on your property. CU Maurice River will provide gardening tools and work gloves; however, if you have a favorite gardening implement, please don't hesitate to bring it along!    All are invited to attend; no experience is necessary. While we work together to give back to our community, we always find time to share tips, swap stories, and enjoy a few laughs. This is a great way to learn more about native flora species and the wildlife that depends on them. Wear clothes that are appropriate for gardening activities. CU Maurice River will provide tools, but if you have a favorite gardening implement please bring it. Bringing water, insect repellent and sunscreen is recommended.

  Millions of dollars worth of vintage and exotic cars will again line Landis Avenue as Cruise Down Memory Lane returns to downtown Vineland—The Ave. This event attracts almost 1,500 American cars—over one mile of cars—and is open to street rods, muscle cars, stock or custom classics, rat rods, and cruisers. The gates will open at 5 pm at West Avenue and East Avenue and all participating vehicles must enter through the gate. At 6:30 pm., the gates will close and cars will remain parked for display. For more information on the event, call Marv at (856) 697-6306 prior to the event or on the day of the show at 856-200-1450. You can also call the Main Street Vineland office at 856-794-8653. No cruising will take place after the event ends at 9 pm, and all traffic laws will be enforced.  The event is open to American marque cars only. They must be 1974 or older unless it is a highly modified late model or a car entering with a legitimate car club. No motorcycles, bikes, foreign cars, or partially-primed vehicles will be allowed. Period correct cars are allowed upon approval. Admission is subject to the Cruise Down Memory Lane staging and gate personnel. Ineligible vehicles will be towed away at the owner’s expense. No special parking arrangements and no alcoholic beverages will be allowed. Any car club entry must enter the gates with their club.

Just ask Paul Thorn, who’s spent three decades turning soulful grooves and small syllables into songs that pack a big wallop. Often overlooked, this dense layer of shrubs, young trees, and groundcover plays a vital role in keeping forests healthy, supporting everything from soil stability to biodiversity. As spring unfolds, the understory becomes a hub of activity, providing food, shelter, and nesting habitat for a wide variety of wildlife.   During this walk, Debbie and Matt will highlight how these vital habitats support abundant bird life, from woodpeckers and songbirds to raptors like owls. Learn how native plants and regenerating forest growth create protective cover and critical resources for species that depend on the space beneath the canopy. Whether you’re a seasoned birder or simply curious about what makes a forest thrive, this walk offers a fascinating glimpse into the living world just below eye level.   Protecting places like Menantico Preserve helps maintain continuous greenways of native habitat that wildlife depend on for food, shelter, and safe movement through the landscape.
