The Friends of the Indian King Tavern are happy to announce that the Annual “Skirmish” between the British and the Colonists will be held on the first Saturday of June throughout the streets of colonial Haddonfield, NJ.   On Saturday, June 6, 2026, the Redcoats will invade Haddonfield and be challenged by Continental troops, just as they did 247 years ago — in June 1778.  The day’s events include activities such as a yelling contest, colonial dancing, pillory prisoners and character reenactors. Plus, soldier reenactors will be available to meet visitors before and after the Skirmish.

Event Details:New Hours: 8:30 AM – 2:00 PM, rain or shine.Who Can Participate: Open to Camden County residents only. Proof of residency required.Important Guidelines:Residents must remain in their vehicles.Materials should be placed in the rear cargo area of vehicles for easy drop-off.No businesses or commercial vehicles allowed.Accepted Items:Dispose of a variety of hazardous items including: Automotive: Motor oil, car batteries, antifreeze.Paint-Related: Oil-based paint, paint thinners, spray paint.Household Cleaners: Bleach, disinfectants, drain openers.Pesticides and Lawncare: Weed killers, insecticides, fertilizers.Personal Care: Nail polish remover, iodine, hydrogen peroxide.Home and Hobby: Mercury thermometers, pool chemicals, propane tanks (under 25 lb).What NOT to Bring:Certain items, such as medications, electronics, tires, smoke detectors, and commercial waste, will not be accepted. Kayaking, Games, & More! Part of Cooper River Water Trail’s Summer Kickoff! A chance for kids to enjoy some outdoor time and try their hand at fishing with the guidance of officers from the Camden County Police Department.  All fishing equipment and bait needed for the event will be supplied, and there will also be refreshments and activities. Organized by the Community Outreach Unit, this amazing event provides an unique opportunity for families, and especially for children, to try fishing (many for the very first time in their lives). All rods, tackle and bait are provided plus, receive expert help on how to cast, bait hooks and reel in a fish. Cops & Bobbers is on Saturday, June 6th from 11 AM to 1 PM at Cramer Hill Waterfront Park!

The Camden County Library system will be holding monthly Art for Adults with Disabilities events at different library locations throughout Camden County.  Run by the Mullica Hill Art Center, it is designed for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Each session participants will learn how to work in media including watercolor, oil, clay, and oil or chalk pastels. Registration for the participant is required, but those who wish to attend do not need to have a library card to register.
