The Bergenfield Library strives to develop cooperative relationships with community organizations and local governmental agencies. To further the our goal of connecting our community with the resources you need, we offer the services of our Social Work intern (Master of Social Work student) who can assist you with:Finding community resources and providing agency referralCompleting applications for Social Security, SNAP, Medicaid/Medicare, and other benefit programsGetting an ID, Birth Certificate, and other vital documentsPlease note that the social work intern is not able to provide any clinical services (i.e. therapy). We are able to refer you to a social service agency that can provide clinical support.There are no residency requirements to meet with the social work intern. All are welcome to drop in! Meetings are in the 2nd floor Conference Room on a first come, first serve basis. Se habla español.Social work services at the library are free of charge. We cannot guarantee that any referral services will also be free of charge. Participation is completely voluntary.A Partnership with Fairleigh Dickinson School of Social Work.

Learn about: traditional scams and trending scams; imposter, romance, gift card, and Al scams; fake ads and phishing; how to protect your property and what to watch out for regarding skimming devices; ow to protect your identity and what to do if you believe you are a victim of identity theft.A Bergen & Passaic County Division of Consumer Affairs representative will discuss how to report a complaint to our office. We can also discuss how to file a complaint in small claims court and the role of the Better Business Bureau which is different from our role.
