Surrounded by gardens and harbor views, visitors can explore a diverse collection of original artwork - including painting, photography, ceramics, fiber art, jewelry, printmaking, and mixed media - alongside a curated selection of handcrafted gifts and artist-made goods. A beloved summer destination for both residents and tourists, the Gallery at Sheafe welcomes thousands of visitors each year and offers opportunities to meet local artists and engage with New England's vibrant arts community. Witness the power of portraits to celebrate the strength and resilience of trauma survivors. Join us in celebrating the life-changing moment when survivors see their paintings. Doors will open at 6PM at Aplomb Gallery while the 2026 survivor portraits are on display in our historical Dover, NH venue. Guests will be treated to a buffet including boneless wings, salad, and appetizers catered by Wing-Itz, with refreshments by donation to complement the night. Programming will include Executive Director and artist, Danielle Festa, discussing the project and showing a video of the paintings being revealed to the survivors. Join our sponsor First Seacoast Bank and host COAST Bus for a rare July Morning Mixer.    This fast-paced, structured, speed networking program starts promptly at 8am, ensuring participants make it through all stations before the end of the hour. Participants arriving after 8am will be assigned a station if there is a station available; any participants unassigned to a station are welcome to stay until the end of the program for general networking.   Each station will have two minutes to share information. After the two minutes are up, one participant will move to the next station and the timer will begin again. The average participant makes 10-15 new contacts in the hour-long session. Bring 40+ business cards to share while networking.

Portsmouth, NH - This summer, the New Hampshire Art Association (NHAA) returns to the historic Sheafe Warehouse in Prescott Park, transforming the waterfront landmark into a seasonal gallery showcasing the work of regional artists. Surrounded by gardens and harbor views, visitors can explore a diverse collection of original artwork - including painting, photography, ceramics, fiber art, jewelry, printmaking, and mixed media - alongside a curated selection of handcrafted gifts and artist-made goods. A beloved summer destination for both residents and tourists, the Gallery at Sheafe welcomes thousands of visitors each year and offers opportunities to meet local artists and engage with New England's vibrant arts community. The gallery will be open June 26 through August 23, Wednesday, Thursday, and Sunday from 12-6 PM, and Friday and Saturday from 12-7 PM. Admission is free, and all artwork is available for purchase. Portsmouth, NH – This July, New Hampshire Art Association (NHAA) is thrilled to present On Paper, a juried exhibition celebrating the versatility, creativity, and transformative potential of paper as both a medium and a material. Artists from across New England were invited to experiment, take risks, and explore the many possibilities paper offers, resulting in a collection of innovative and boundary-pushing works. The exhibition features artwork created on or of paper, including drawing, painting, folded paper, sculptural paper works, papier-mâché, watercolor, printmaking, cut paper, artist books, cyanotypes, photogravures, and other alternative photographic processes in which paper plays a central role. Together, these works demonstrate the remarkable creativity that can emerge from one of the world's most familiar and accessible materials. Juried by Lisa Barthelson, On Paper showcases both emerging and established artists whose work expands the possibilities of paper-based art. From delicate collages and etched photographs to bold sculptures and paintings depicting paper itself, the exhibition invites visitors to reconsider paper not simply as a surface, but as a powerful artistic medium capable of conveying texture, form, memory, and meaning. On Paper will be on view at the Robert Lincoln Levy Gallery, 136 State Street, Portsmouth, NH 03801, from July 1 through July 26, 2026. An opening reception will be held on Friday, July 3, from 5:00–8:00 pm. Gallery hours are Tuesday through Thursday from 11 am to 5 pm, Friday and Saturday from 11 am to 6 pm, and Sunday from 12 pm to 5 pm.

New Hampshire Art Association (NHAA) is pleased to present one artist group and two solo artists during July. Seacoast Nocturne by The Abstract Four, a close group of painters who have exhibited together regularly for the past decade. They all bring distinct interpretations to common themes, pushing each other to stretch their ideas and offer fresh, engaging art. Barbara Adams, Tom Glover, Dustan Knight, and Peter Cady are the artists behind this buzzing celebration of Portsmouth nightlife that explores the energy and color, drawing visitors to the working waterfront, restaurants, and summer festivals. Flesh & Framework by artist Sarah Picard, an intimate exhibition exploring the fragility of the internal self and the inherited structures that distort feminine identity. External ideas about beauty, worth, and womanhood can become so deeply absorbed that they're indistinguishable from one's own voice, and the artist honestly explores the disconnect between her inner and outer facing identities often imposed by others. Using oil, pastel, charcoal, and found materials, Picard layers figures and uncalculated, gestural marks to assert the fragmentation, dissolution, and doubling that occurs in the feminine body. Born This Way by artist Carol Whalen, an exhibition that explores the interconnectedness of the natural world and human experience. Through playful and imaginative compositions, Whalen challenges perceived divisions between living things, suggesting that all life shares the same fundamental desire: to live, thrive, and flourish. A desire which can best be met through connection and collaboration. Seacoast Nocturn, Flesh & Framework, and Born This Way will be on view at the New Hampshire Art Association’s Robert Lincoln Levy Gallery, 136 State St, Portsmouth, NH, 03801, from July 1st to 26th, with an opening reception on July 3rd, 5-8 pm. Meet the Artists, a special reception to get a closer look into the inspiration behind the artists hard work, will be on July 18th, 3 - 5 pm. Celebrate America’s 250th birthday with special guest Mary Ann Esposito who will talk about Thomas Jefferson’s love of Italian food and how he incorporated an iconic Italian dish into a classic American dish. Join us for our monthly contra dance series! Every first Sunday of the month, we're having a dance to close out the weekend---Put on your dancing shoes and come twirl with us! Led by an expert caller and fun for dancers of any age or ability, our contra barn dances are the perfect community event. No experience needed! Beginners, or those new to contra dance, are invited to come early for a lesson from 6:30pm to 7pm, with the dance running from 7pm to 9pm. The dance occurs inside our historical 19th century barn, with concessions available. Folks are invited to come early to picnic on our beautiful lawn and visit our friendly farm animals. All dances are $15 per person. Youth under 12 are free.
