The Marketing & Communications Committee promotes Women?s Network and the Columbia Chamber of Commerce activities and events through media and professional contacts, and various means of communication. The committee develops press releases and responds to requests from various Women?s Network committees to publicize activities and arrange media opportunities. This committee also takes pictures during events, designs marketing products for WN, produces the monthly WN newsletter and keeps the WN social media accounts active and up-to-date.  This committee meets on the second Monday of every month at noon at the Chamber.

If you are a "named representative" for your Chamber member business, you're welcome to serve on any one of our nine available committees, which is a great way for you to use your membership, to get involved in your community, to network and to market your business.  If you want to learn more about how to be sure you are getting the most from your membership, please join us at one of our complimentary Chamber 101: Introductory & Refresher Courses.  We offer six each year.  You can register for them online at www.ColumbiaMOChamber.com or by calling (573) 817-9110.  This popular class is free but space is limited so registration is required.  Please consider joining us at our Membership Committee meeting. This committee works to provide a warm welcome to our new Chamber Members and also to newly named representatives. The purpose of the Transportation & Infrastructure Committee is to provide leadership, education and advocacy that enhances the transportation and infrastructure interests of the Columbia business community. To develop cooperative relationships with organizations and to establish and nurture positive relationships with local, regional and state transportation and infrastructure officials.  Co-chaired by John Frerking, Engineering Surveys & Services and David Nichols, Emery Sapp & Sons.

Co-Chairs Trent Rash, The Missouri Symphony and Rachel Flynn, Betz Jewelers Purpose The Small Business Committee works to enhance and improve the small business and entrepreneurial community in Columbia by providing education programs, opportunities for relationship building and access to resources that can help small business owners thrive. Goals Enhance and improve the small business and entrepreneurial community. o Plan and present the Small Business of the Year awards. o Plan and execute Small Business Week and all subsequent events in relation to it. o Advocate for issues and challenges facing small businesses in our community. o Annually during the November Quarterly Membership Breakfast, the Nonprofit of the Year Awards will take place. This special recognition highlights the outstanding nonprofit members of our Chamber and honors their invaluable contributions and philanthropy within our local community.   Provide educational programs. o Host quarterly breakfasts and lunches covering topics relevant to small businesses. o Conduct the Small Business Roundtable, consisting of a structured monthly group discussion of a professional development topic. o Provide updates to committee members regarding other divisions of the Chamber including Women?s Network, EPIC, Ambassadors and Workforce Development on topics that are of shared interest across divisions.. Provide opportunities for relationship building. o Membership Coordinator will report on new small businesses that join the Chamber for potential committee involvement. New members will be reached out to by a representative of the Small Business Committee and personally invited to Small Business Committee meetings, and Roundtables. Provide access to resources. o Provide access to other small business resource organizations, including the SBDC, SBA, REDI, Missouri Women?s Business Center and other local chambers. o Make sure all committee members receive the Chamber monthly newsletter communication. Benefit Members will receive support and access to resources that will encourage professional development and the growth of their small business within our community.
