Sign up for a half hour session to work individually with a reference staff member at the Stillwater Public Library. This program is designed as a one-shot instruction opportunity for novices or beginners to receive technology help for a specific need or question. Examples of what we can help with: email setup and navigation, orienting to a new device (smartphone, tablet, eReader, etc.), internet basics, Libby setup Examples of what we cannot help with: virus protection, file migration, home visits, or website development Registration for this appointment is required. Please check in at the Information desk on the lower level of the library at the appointment start time. If you are seeking assistance with a specific device, please bring it with you to the appointment along with any login information and/or passwords. If you have technology needs that are smaller in scope, please feel free to visit the library during our regular hours.

Learn about space, constellations, and the moon with the Bell Museum! Participants will learn about light filtering, create a constellation, and participate in a community art piece about the moon.Registration is required. This program is for ages 6-12.

One-On-One Help with MedicareTrellis, the designated Area Agency on Aging for the metro, is partnering with Stillwater Public Library to help answer your questions about Medicare, Supplement/Medigap, and Advantage plans. As part of the Senior LinkAge Line, Trellis provides Medicare counseling to those who currently have Medicare, are new to Medicare, or are planning for the future. Trellis is a not-for-profit service provider that offers no-cost, unbiased, and confidential information about the different parts of Medicare, your options, and ways to potentially lower your Medicare costs. Trellis isn’t selling a specific Medicare product. Interpreters are also available upon request. If you have questions, Trellis has answers!Trellis offers 1 hour, one-one-one Medicare help at Stillwater Public Library on the first Monday of the month from 10 AM – 2 PM. Trellis also offers in-person appointments at other metro locations and phone appointments.To register for an appointment or check availability, go to trellisconnects.org/medicareappt:Choose In-Person or Phone Appointment.For an in-person appointment, click on the down arrow under SELECT STAFF to specify your meeting location. This session includes 10 minutes of secular meditation instruction followed by 30 minutes of sitting meditation using a technique of bringing attention to the breath.Everyone is welcome and no registration is required.

Books will stock the shelves for The Friends of the Stillwater Public Library’s used book sale on November 13 - 16, 2024.None of the following items will be accepted: encyclopedias, magazines, Reader’s Digest Condensed Books, textbooks, religious materials, National Geographic, videos, cassettes, partially used puzzle books, books that are worn, stained, mildewed or contain mold, handwriting, or highlighting.
